So far TODAY Israel has:

- bombed Gaza City
- bombed Khan Younis
- shot and killed five Palestinians in Gaza City
- refused to open the Rafah border crossing
- announced they would once more block aid

This is what a "ceasefire" with Israel looks like. This is what it has always looked like.

One of the terrible things about the conservative elites’ attacks on higher education is that they are giving their constituents the impression that the universe isn’t big, complicated, and fascinating — that it really does take this many people to work out how even a small fraction of it works

A background of deep green streaked with patches of emerald green features white and yellow text reading, “Portraits of Decay Online Launch Event,” and “October 21, 2025 @ 8 PM ET.” Beneath this yellow-outlined circular black and white photos of J.R. Blanes and Christa Wojciechowski sit next to each other, with white text next to and beneath reading “J.R. Blanes” and “reading and conversation with Christa Wojciechowski.” An image of the Portraits of Decay paperback sits to the right of this, and the Ruadán Books logo is in the lower left corner of the graphic.

Little update. Mostly been off bsky coz I've had some complications involving fevers, bleeding. It's been a rough six weeks, physically, mentally, emotionally. Would have liked to have rested but I gotta pay for the hospital bills and various tests and medications. Anything you can spare will help.
Hi all; I'm going to undergo a significant procedure later this year (sorry, would rather not disclose) and my husband's health insurance doesn't cover it. We're going to need funds for the care during and after. Any help would be much appreciated:

HP was consumed with self-pity
'Cause he couldn't find someone to blame;
He moved home with his aunties and kitty
(The one with the terrible name)

And that is the story of Howard,
Who was racist, longwinded and daft,
But surprisingly sexually powered -
No wonder they called him Love Craft

There's plenty of complexity to the story of Ian Roberts, the Black Iowa superintendent arrested by ICE.

But the way the @nytimes.com chose to frame this article is racist and shameful.

As always, today is a good day to support artists, writers, creators. If you have the means, maybe consider signing up for a Patreon. Buy a book, a game, a painting. Commission a new piece. Tell a creator what they mean to you. Signal boost their work.

Let Angela tell you all about The Cold House and then pick up a copy of this creepy, chilling, twisty-turny book. ❤️👀
Happy bookthday to The Cold House! Have a wee vid and some messy hair that'll drive my mother mad!

A twisty turny story of lies, love, isolated (second) locations, and folk horror.

will just repeat that if you straight up replaced the current Canada Council grants system with this it would fund about 1000 more artists per year for the same amount of money and immeasurably greater stability
Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:
www.citizensinformation.ie/en/employmen...
Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."
