In terms of the #evolution of the #human brain, #language is a very recent cognitive acquistion.
Other #GreatApes seem to have most of the hallmarks of intelligence we have: a sense of #self, #tool use, even forms of #culture and #politics. (1/4)
'When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, 'it means just what I choose it to mean- neither more nor less.'
'The question is,' said Alice, 'whether you can make words mean so many different things.'
'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master—that's all.'
I'd feel a lot better about him if he were a cranberry farmer, but oyster farmer? I'm not sure I'm comfortable with that.
Worse than Speer, not as bad as Goebbels, I'd say. 🤔

Now do the four-body problem!
#NightmareonElmStreet 2: Freddie barely shows up until the last twenty minutes or so, having been channeled thru a Very 80s Teen Dude before then. In that time, he demonstrates that he's apparently stolen Drew Barrymore's powers from Firestarter and it's awesome. But for the most part this sucked.
No, no, it's all a misunderstanding.

"Prompt" just means "show up on time cuz we're not saving any wine for you."
Ok, but if you ask a random person on Signal if they're a cop they have to tell you if they're a cop, right?

Bisexual.
Question:

What do you call someone that's bisexual but only been with guys?

Just curious
My time in Silicon Valley included MDMA, psilocybin, and LSD, so this helps me make sense of why I didn't fall in with a bad crowd, thank you.

Yes! Exactly. It’s an action to RECLAIM it. 💪🇺🇸

Yep. We will reclaim it.

Agree, I’ve lost faith in the American flag over the past few years but reclaiming is powerful moment.

Reclamation of the flag is important. For years I saw an American flag and my stomach dropped. These Nazis don't deserve to call themselves Patriots. The flag is for all of the No Kings protesters.

The GOP are and have been the evil in this and they will continue to be.

We own patriotism.

Thank you to everyone at the #NO_KINGS rallies for making your voices heard & being part of history.
The massive crowds were joyful, passionate & spectacular!

So were the signs...

Those with sharp eyes might detect a subtle difference in NYT play last month of an event in one city, w 100,000+ attendees, versus play this morning of some 2500+ events w many millions of attendees, in all 50 states.

See if you can spot it! /s

Trumpism is fascism but it is post-ideological fascism, fascism as pure form, emptied of content. To the extent it has any content, it is hopeless, despairing, vengeful nihilism. This is fascism as it appears after the neoliberal cultural counter-revolution reduced politics to process & structure.

The teeny tiny No Kings things in very red areas are so huge

Say like five or six people show up. None of them knew each other before. Suddenly they’re all friends. And maybe from that you get a group that does longer-term organizing that can punch *way* above its weight considering where it is
