i am 20 chapters into this editing pass on a 31-chapter book. you can tell i'm editing The Liar's Throne when i have the appendices open on my lap, a rhyming dictionary in my browser, and my fourth can of Diet Dr Pepper.

It feels like there was a whole ecosystem of jobs for working artists that no longer exists. There was a time you could make a good living as the illustrator for movie posters. Or as a longform writer for magazines. So many normal + cheap places for us all to see art and read works...just gone.
