Many of us were notified that we lost SNAP benefits today. It may be temporary.

For me, SNAP gave me some freedom to eat. As someone who is poor with a long history of eating disorders and economic insecurity it is slowly hitting. I’ve had SNAP for less than 6 months. It made my life a lot better.

Health insurance costs jumped for workers & employers in 2025.

This will get worse if the GOP refuses to extend ACA subsidies.

Meanwhile, the seven largest health insurance companies made a combined $71B in profits in 2024.

One word: Profits

When healthcare is for profit, success is measured in dollars instead health outcomes.

Every company involved wants to increase their profits, so the additional costs are passed on to you.

Insurance isn’t healthcare, and healthcare shouldn’t be for profit.

Every single insurance company spends $5 billion per week to familiarize us with quirky spokespeople and their anthropomorphic animals. We spend 1/5th of our lives watching them caper about. They're able to do this because of the profit margins on the important product they produce (denied claims).
