It doesn’t help when Canadians just continue to go to the US cuz they want a cheap vacay. I know of a number of people who have done it since January. These people need to be f*g adventurous! If your idea of a vacation is beach, drinks & sun, go to Cancun or Cuba FFS 🤦‍♀️

I certainly hope so! There’s been some nefarious activity by US corps to Crown Lands B.C. for unmonitored access to points on both sides of the Inside Passage. Also, an agency of the American government has bought ~5-8% of a couple of 🇨🇦rare earth cos. Feds should review it; no sign that’ll happen.

Always the Neo-con line. Best way to fight back is to repost the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives’ “Alternate Federal Budget”. All the naysayers assume that everything new is an add-on. We could 🪓 current corp subsidies & credits, given windfall profits in a number of sectors (eg. 🦖⛽️ sector)

There’s no doubt about that! But if digging out of the pit focuses only on fossil fuel projects for B.C., AB, Sask, I don’t think we’re on the right track for “nation-building”. That’s just digging a tunnel sideways to create an even deeper pit filled with bitumen and a shit ton of filthy water.

True, but there are certain classes that need to contribute a hella lot more. Our tax system has been flattened so much that the wealthy (the top 10%) are simply not contributing fairly or at all. That started with Mulroney. So Carney’s right that we didn’t get here quickly; there’s no 💰 🌲

Agreed. Sadly, I’m not sure that many of the more recent generations do much reading outside of school. Non-fiction books also have a role. I’m also reading “Shake Hands with the Devil” by Lt. Commander Romeo Dallaire, about the Rwandan genocide & the inability of UN Peacekeepers to prevent it.
