I haven’t. I didn’t know they’d done that. I’d be interested in how it goes for you.

Thanks for the tip!

Those big cafe cookies are a treat, but if I baked them at home that size, I’d be in trouble. 😆

That sign would have me become a confirmed stairwell user, no matter how tired!

These looked yummy…until I read the calorie count. Yikes! I could make them smaller…

I agree. Nation building through restoring, modernizing, electrifying, and expanding train travel from coast to coast to coast would address climate change, economy, and strengthen the country. It is good news about the Northlander.

It is soooo weird. My browsers wouldn’t connect although my email and apps would. I don’t understand the mouse issue at all. Now as long as I don’t open up one particular browser window with all its open tabs, the connection sticks. I guess I should just start w a fresh window. 🤔

I had client way way back whose Mac I had to troubleshoot. Four hours later, I vowed I’d never get a Mac! I love my iPad and iPhone and iWatch, but I stick with Windows despite it all. 😆The Windows 10 is on an underpowered AIO I bought on sale. I currently am using Windows 11 Pro, which works OK.

Me, too. It’s like passwords. I wish we didn’t have to have a bazillion of them, but unlike some IRL I know (ahem), I just accept and move on. Trying to deal with Windows 10 and weird ass intermittent internet connection issues (why?!) and my laptop suddenly hating my mouse consumes all my energy!

I assume it’s a backlash against the Federal Liberals austerity and failure to stand up for Canada as we face a climate crisis, and the threat from down south.

😂

I don’t understand why my modern oven can connect to the Wi-Fi, but I still need to manually set the clock after every power outage, no matter how brief. Naturally, I don’t. 😆

My brain injury showed me that. Before it, I was self taught, could learn code/tech no problem (tho I’d gotten bored with it and wanted to focus on writing). After, yeah, steep learning-forgetting-relearning-ad-nauseum curve! 😱 I appreciate how people have made some stuff easier. Wish TV makers wld.

A day after this, I was bowled over by the news there’ll be a change in my health care worker. I’m counting on NaNo 2.0 even more now to get me writing novel three of the Q’Zam’Ta Trilogy! 🤞 And all the other resources to help me finish Preptober.

When I was gifted a Smart TV, Geek Squad came to install it. They also set it up, disallowing all the privacy-breaking options. I usually set up all the computer things, but it was real nice having someone else do it!

I’m trying to get back into the habit of dictating messages, posts, Alt-TXT now iOS is better at it. It is quicker! And my body likes it. 😁

Forgetting is a brief escape. 🙂

It didn’t help me when they switched it to a pathetic annual benefit, but if Trudeau had left it alone, it would’ve helped me with the sudden expenses I had. I was counting on it then suddenly had to scramble. This was w only a few years to deposit into it. PWD need emergency funds. Again we don’t.
shireenj.bsky.social
Carney talked about doing the impossible taking down interprovincial trade barriers. He got Ford moving on a couple. Singh got Trudeau to give some PWD $600. The huge obstacles can be gotten around if there’s the desire to truly help all Canadians live.
shireenj.bsky.social
The Liberals did that with Flaherty’s RDSP, changing it from its intended function as emergency funds, to a pseudo-disability benefit. And they gave practically no notice of the switch, leaving banks and us scrambling. Both parties use us a tennis ball.
shireenj.bsky.social
They are. Provinces have kept people down with their below-poverty rates and dehumanizing qualifying rules.

I think, though, with CERB as precedent, they can institute #UBI, which would compensate for the clawbacks. We know from 2020, the Feds can figure this out.

This is very wrong @mark-carney.bsky.social and I know CEOs don’t have to bring the media along, but people like Prime Ministers who are accountable to voters and their caucus DO.

Statement from the president of the Parliamentary Press Gallery:
Statement from the president of the Parliamentary Press Gallery, on Prime Minister Mark Carney’s trip to Egypt

The Parliamentary Press Gallery was not informed in advance of the Prime Minister’s trip to Egypt to participate in the Middle East Peace Ceremony on Oct. 12 - 13.

The Gallery is disappointed and dismayed at the exclusion of Canadian media from the event and expresses in no uncertain terms that this must never happen again.

It is unprecedented that Canadian media be entirely excluded from a Canadian prime minister’s foreign trip.

Our members bring trustworthy and reliable news coverage free from any political interference to Canadians every day and play a critical role in holding government's accountable to the people that elect them.

Every government, in a healthy democracy, must show a commitment to freedom of the press. In Canada, that includes respect for the vital role the Gallery and its members play. Any event that erodes access, transparency and accountability is a step in the wrong direction.

The Liberal govt calling the benefit as part of their “Disability Inclusion Action Plan” is insulting. Do they think people with disabilities will be so grateful for the crumbs, they’ll feel included? Bah! Only universal basic income #UBI includes all and protects against being disqualified.
shireenj.bsky.social
The max $200/month Canada Disability Benefit is part of Liberal govt @mark-carney.bsky.social “Disability Inclusion Action Plan” Inclusion‽! Bwahahaha!!! Don’t they mean impoverish, soul-destroying, send-them-to-euthanasia plan‽

If #cdnpoli really want to include ppl w disabilities, enact #UBI.

What a mischievous grin. 😁

I’m looking forward to NaNoWriMo time, hoping the intense writing will take up all my brain space and push out the flaming world.
