A Cooper's Hawk just thumped a window beside me (softly, without injury) then flew off with the same embarrassed aura the dog had the other day when she failed jumping into the car and walked back to the house like she hadn't wanted to go for a ride anyway.

Palais des Beaux Arts in Lille: Thought this was a contemporary critique of selfie culture but it's a 16th century monument to René of Chalon, Prince of Orange of course. Silly me.

It's too perfect that a long-defunct small press infamous for robbing its authors (me among them) also seems to have failed to file copyrights which now prevents me from claiming the AI settlement even though the book was part of the stolen database. Adding insult to injury even from the grave!
