Was out on a "posh" round today. Range Rovers and aesthetics salons as far as the eye could see. Interesting because the older generation round there still refer to me as working for the GPO.

Day off today so I’m going to stay in and watch this VHS upload of lightly self-conscious people dancing to The Cramps with the lights on in a listed building in Batley in the 8os. Great soundtrack, hairstyles and interview technique – check the edit at 7m42s. Quality.

Once, in 2012, the TV remote broke and I saw two minutes of a Kirstie Allsopp programme: Nick and Ellie had been PLAGUED by a NIGHTMARE kitchen so they made some paper roses. Kirsty looked at the camera and told me that my signature craft might be just around the corner. I’ve never got over it.

A man in a waxed coat comes out and I hand him a letter. He squints at it. ‘What’s that say?’ he asks, his finger under the word Specsavers. A spaniel appears, barking aggressively. ‘Don’t worry about her says the man ‘She doesn’t bark.’

Seriously? Is there anyone who finds this kind of thing lifts their day. I find it irritating and patronising. Baffling. Fab tw*ts.
