Don't get me wrong I still think Grant Morrison rules but I was never gonna look to them for spiritual guidance before this either. Unfortunately one of life's constants is that sometimes really interesting creative people are in fact cuckoo bananas.

But as I keep saying, AI can tell you a vampire story but it can't tell you a story about mormons who sparkle. The really deranged AI hallucination shit where images used to have myriad and constantly moving eyes and stuff like that has been streamlined out of it, and that makes it less interesting.

I keep saying stuff like "AI could be useful if we could just be sensible about it" as if humanity has ever been sensible about anything ever. Of course we're going to create the torment nexus, that's kind of how we roll.

We keep seeing from cases of adult psychosis and teen suicide that it is very, very easy to get emotionally entangled with AI. Investing a sophisticated mimic machine with metaphysical weight is a fast track to losing perspective on what could be a useful tool if approached sensibly.

This kind of echoes a conversation I was having with my mum the other day -- she was appalled at the idea that people were using chatbots to talk to the dead, and I was trying to explain that for someone into the tech or into spiritual stuff, the bot was a part of the deceased's genuine soul.

Morrison invoking AI alike to "God" indicates a severe misunderstanding of how AI appropriates the work of thousands, including their own, and someone needs to rectify their understanding ASAP.

But also it's a severe disservice to their colleagues anyway to use it and justify it like this.

I was watching a road to empress playthrough and one of the characters reminded me visually of Jin Guangyao because his face is entirely enormous eyes and winsomeness and then he turned out to be a sketchy double-crossing evil gay. Good.
