For new arrivals…hi, I’m Sarah. I’m a law librarian and legal technologist. My past is EDU and A2J, but now work more with Big Law. I like making things better, open source and free law, professional development, and telling people they’re wrong. I live in rural USA with my 82 year old dad.

Your response to the "No Kings" protest is shrieking that the president is the state and you can't oppose one without opposing the other? Ok man

it's getting more and more obvious that fixing what's broken in this country is going to require levels of integrity and moral clarity that most people just simply do not possess and I'm not sure what to do with that information

now wait a goddamn minute....ROBERTS IS A REGION RAT?

(that means he's from Northwest Indiana, which is where I live.)
clip from John Roberts bio on wikipedia. "In 1965, ten-year-old Roberts and his family moved to Long Beach, Indiana, where his father became the manager of a new steel plant in nearby Burns Harbor.[15] By age 13, Roberts "already had a clear plan for his life."[16] He attended the parochial La Lumiere School,[17] an academically rigorous Catholic boarding school in La Porte, Indiana,[18] where he captained the school's football team, participated in track and field, and was a regional champion in wrestling. He also participated in choir and drama, and was a co-editor of the school newspaper.[15] He graduated in 1973 as class valedictorian, becoming the first graduate of the La Lumiere School to enroll at Harvard University.[19]"

One of my only remaining joys is that every single time Amy Coney Barrett makes a stupid argument, Ketanji Brown Jackson gets a chance to follow up and illustrate her stupidity.
And this will happen again, and again, for the rest of Barrett's life.

A foundational truth of this republic is it has no king.

Johnson: "We call it the Hate America Rally that will happen Saturday. Let's see who shows up for that. I bet you you'll see Hamas supporters, I bet you'll see antifa types, I bet you'll see Marxists on full display, people who don't want to stand and defend the foundational truths of this republic"

when we win and rebuild SCOTUS one thing we're surely gonna GODDAMN do is MAKE ALL ORAL ARGUMENTS VIDEO LIVE STREAMED.
sglassmeyer.bsky.social
kind of weird to be (a) trying to work (b) while watching play by play of significant SCOTUS oral arguments that may literally put final nail in democracy in United States and (c) simultaneously having The Fate of Ophelia stuck in your head.

yup. it's why they freak out about being a minority.

The fight here with Gorsuch and Kav vs Nelson is whether the "use" of race automatically means "discrimination" on the basis of race.

That's interesting to me, because it's basically the white folks telling on themselves. They cannot see a "use" of race that isn't synonymous with discrimination.

they're trying to Black Lives Matter/Defund the Police the "no kings" slogan but even racist, cop loving Americans are pretty solid on the issue of kings. but anyway, please keep going with your all monarchs matter and publicity for the rally this weekend.

By now, foreign governments must have put their least effective and competent spies on the job of spying on us. It's just too easy.

Currently on a flight to Japan watching a Pentagon Assistant Press Secretary (Riley Podleski) work on a document in the open on her laptop. She spent the last hour copy and pasting headlines from articles critical of the Administration’s hostility toward the 1st amendment.

My parents friend group had monthly party and their friend Gayle (who lived in amazing Victorian right on river) always claimed October because she reasoned she wouldn’t have to clean cobwebs.

Homeowner tip: If you keep forgetting to power wash the exterior of your home, you’ll end up with a spooky collection of authentic cobwebs just in time for the Halloween season. Very scary!

The entire first two months of the Biden administration were taken up by obsessive complaining about how he wouldn't do press conferences & wasn't taking policy questions (bsky.app/profile/mcop...).

This? Gone tomorrow. Totally different set of standards applied to two totally different parties.

we found that most protein powders and shakes have more lead in one serving than our experts say is safe to have in a day (🧵)
