One of my hometown rags (yknow - the ones w/recipes, colorful LEO stories, + ads for things like leaf removal) featured something beautiful recently. My mayor hlpd arrange a naturalization ceremony for a local teen. Used it as a tool to teach + cause to celebrate.
In deep red flyover country.

I wish I knew the names of the ppl who touched my life so profoundly in those weeks/months. A person whose *last name* I dk put me, my old roomie, + a total stranger up for days. (We were the UN, no joke.) A movie theater screened films for free + fed us snax. Ppl gave direct aid.
