For some reason Will Stancil and Matt Stoller are the same person in my mind (though I’m guessing they’re different in important ways). People seem always irritated by both and I think I just scroll by and somehow they’ve become the same person to me.
Yes those are the 2 options.
“No one saw this coming.” It does feel harder to pull off that since it’s his 2nd term. Though it seems to be the only hope for the Fox News sect, that news can amplify some scandal as something EXTRA that surpasses all his other nonsense and they can say well now Trump loses confidence
Yeah I think they’re going for a strategy that was called out almost 40 years ago. And it’s still effective now but maybe, hopefully, less so. The way they’re doing it now really feels super out of touch though. I think X silo-ing really has made their angles less impactful.
Trump’s got a 39% approval rating. I don’t think billionaires hiring people to whine that the majority of Americans are unAmerican is a very effective strategy.
Surprised to learn that I had an anti-American tilt.
I think this is all correct but Trumps got a 39% approval rating. It’s beyond starting to feel strange that some media still seem like ostriches. Like you’ve got to be not just a little out of touch at that point.

Weird that the journalist didn’t ask any questions about the percentile of the R01 grant funded with Walsh as PI in late September, and why it was awarded to a guy presumably in late pipeline for this Director chair.

NEW: A Border Patrol spokesperson did not deny agents pointed a gun at state Rep. Huynh in a statement to @wttw.bsky.social.

"He was given a warning the first time he was stopped, and he ignored that warning forcing agents to get out of their car a second time to assess if he was a threat."
FULL STORY: A Border Patrol agent pointed a gun at state Rep. Hoan Huynh while he warned North Side residents that immigration agents were conducting enforcement operations, said Huynh, a Vietnam refugee who is running to represent Illinois' 9th District in Congress. @wttw.bsky.social

What’s a dandruff club?

And if he had just filled the tattoo in to make it a blob before all this it would have been a better defense.
It’s like the grandparents that stayed on Facebook to interact with made up news and AI. Except now it’s our newsrooms and podcasters that refuse to think that reality exists outside their narrow bubble and what they can see on Twitter.
sorry I couldn’t find a version of this meme where both of the arms are white

It's quite simple. If it looks like Bridget Riley got really, really ambitious after seeing a good deal on rattlecans at Halfords, it's dazzle.

It's a great day to read about a (hacked) Facebook page that has racked up nearly 200K followers by posting AI-generated images of alleged barndominiums.

(Also, I have now learned that the word "barndominium" exists thanks to Facebook spam.)

So sorry for your loss. Your writing made me tear up this morning. To be so loved by your child is a wonderful blessing.
I mean the guy with the Nazi prison guard tattoo then worked as a merc for a blackwater offshoot. Kinda seems related.
Roxane, do you really and truly believe that Platner is a Nazi? Can you point to any evidence apart from this one regrettable tattoo? Anything in his campaign literature or his speeches? In the platform he's running on?

Serious question.
I never heard of it before either. But leven if the story is he just knew the name and never googled it……like that either doesn’t add up or is really weirdly uncurious. Like if someone had gotten duped into getting some wrong Chinese lettering and then being too oblivious to find out for 2 decades
In a world where a military history buff decides not to google his tattoo for decades.
You don’t need internet connection to have a bed cooling system. There’s options that aren’t internet connected. There’s no practical reason for it to be reliant on the internet.
Conservatives continually find new ways to « feel » oppressed. But « disagreeing with me is un-American » has got to be a low bar in creativity.
Surprised to learn that I had an anti-American tilt.
Like this is a goal they talk about a lot on that podcast. He thinks there’s way too many PhDs doing research and more research by it’s nature somehow dilutes genius. bsky.app/profile/jben...
