i've been working so hard on this for so long i'm so happy to be able to share this wider.

it's by no means "done" but i really, really strongly felt it was important to create a free, public website that anyone can access.

i went to college, i started a career in web dev, all to see this through.
Announcing: the Cryptarchy Dictionary!

Currently featuring over 141 words and phrases from across both @destinythegame.bungie.net and @marathonthegame.bungie.net, featuring logograms, audio pronunciation previews, and more, it's the beginning of a beautiful euphony.

reminded of a heated retro discussion at work a year ago; AI was brought up and was considered "an area we could trailblaze in".

i said "well, at this point, i think we would be trailblazers by not using AI," to little agreement.

i've felt bittersweetly vindicated every day since.
I have an idea.

Let's just repackage Windows 7 and call it Windows 12 and we will all pretend it's a new revolutionary OS and just buy it and then our computers will work.
“Stop scrolling and post two characters who bring you happiness.”

does this count?
all of the characters you’ve mentioned are considered DLC, which it has been established will be unvoiced.

i’m not sega, i’m explaining why they made the decisions they made. i hope you get the characters you want.
the bank, no, but evidently it would break their budget.

the more base characters, the more lines to write, cast, record, localise. that costs a lot of time and money.

bsky.app/profile/sars...
it’s understandable. voice acting internationally is expensive. a character with 10 lines needs at least 10 language versions. that’s already 100 lines of dialogue you need to record and get right. say there’s 50 characters, that’s multiplied 500 lines into 5,000 lines.

i’m fine with simple.
some speculative adjective forms (don't mind the double letters):

Singular:
dative: Eliksni - given Light
- Eliksnisk - One given Light
genitive: Eliksnos - Light's / of the Light
- Eliksnossk - Light's one / One of the Light

Plural:
dative: Elikssin - given Lights
genitive: Eliksnōn - Lights's
JUST KIDDING

okay so i think i was just excited lol.

"-ni" is a 1st/3rd declension dative nasal suffix for adjectives in ancient greek; it denotes the beneficiary of the given noun.

basically, i think it's actually simply:

e - the
liks - light
eliks - Light
-ni - given

Eliksni: Light-given.
the idea is to market launch to the widest possible appeal. as cool as they are, leading off with tangle/whisper DLC wouldn't pull numbers like persona/werehog (drawing new/old fans).

the mobile games are a way to fund new models and gauge interest. that way you know what's popular enough to add.
every time i see a thumbnail like this, i like to imagine that this it becomes one of the few remaining relics of this era, and in 10,000 years, it gets recovered in a datacache and nobody understands what it means
just discovered there's a super cool futurama mod for simpson's hit & run...

...that's full of AI voices.

way to turn a labour of love into a bastardisation with one simple trick.

you can't even call it a fan project, but if you were a fan of anything, you'd know not to spit in an artist's face.
finished celeste in a oner last night.

great game. was expecting something of an IWBTG type deal from the difficulty i’d heard about it but was quite a measured curve.

have to say, the very last part was very beautifully designed. the feeling of relief getting the last few jumps was a nice touch.
mind you, it’s to replace the appointment they cancelled on thursday. it was to be that next monday; my last day there.

they said they’d have to check as “it shows fine on our end” and call me back on friday. they did not call until tuesday.

i’d be an unreliable engineer too going to empty houses.
OVO has to be the worst company i have ever been forced to use.

their support staff are nice, but what a trainwreck of logistics.

3 fumbled engineer appointments booked in a year. i move home, close and refund my account, and still i’m being pestered about an appointment in november? lol lmao even

Hey, I heard AWS was down and it made me realise how down I've been since our connection was lost; I'm banking on us being able to reconnect wherever you are in the world and that together we can work to restore our valuable collaborative partnership.

Q. What is the difference between a programmer and a non-programmer ?
A. The non-programmer thinks a kilobyte is 1000 bytes while a programmer is convinced that a kilometer is 1024 meters
#joke
no yeah 100%.

we’ve known niirsai as “out of control”, but we have also heard it as “ni’irsai”.

which means it’s not just “out of | control”, it’s “beyond | control”.

i think the e- in eliks (and thus eliksni) is an augment, to make it a thematic definite article.

i.e. “a light” to “the Light”.
99% sure. parsing in the cryptarchy and have been getting very far.

i believe liks is “light”, making eliks “enlightenment”, “luxury”, or “opulence”, while “-ni” is a preposition (actually postposition, or adposition) for “out of”, “forth”, or “beyond”.

essentially, eliksni may mean temperance.
ELIKSNI MEANS BEYOND LIGHT
show so bad it gave me nightmares.

woke up realising the four episodes we watched were giving madame web.
dude the scottish accents in the mayfair witches are so offensive lmao

I saw a tragically AI-generated version of this poster, so I have recreated a 100% human-made version for all your protest sign needs.

when i got the kinect, i was living in the attic of my parents’ cottage in scotland. couldn’t actually use it as it turned out.

i could’ve moved it to the living room but…y’know. furniture.

i’ve never lived anywhere that actually had enough floorspace for it without making accommodations.
very excited about that. it’s why i followed you originally. the algorithm kept showing me your takes. realised how many things you had a hand in, like some sort of sardonically benevolent panopticon.

honestly suspected you were a parody account for ages lmao (until i reached out and you were cool)
