ursa pleiade is like if elle woods was a final girl and also catholic with religious delusions about being a prophet and god's special little princess but then god left her to die. And now she wants to kill god
and finally ursa is just like. the effects of ishgard's pseudo-catholic culture. the different ways trauma can change someone. Being forced to continue on living despite your best efforts, all because of the people who love you
inanna's themes have a lot more to do with being the "sidekick" or "the guy in the chair", doing good and helping people but not being acknowledged for any of it, the complicated feelings that come with loving someone and realizing they've hurt you, still wanting to love them but also not forgive
elinor has themes of fate and defying what was predetermined because it isn't what you want, having to reckon with saving people who wouldn't do the same for you, and being the sole survivor of his community, and it all goes back to him trying to run from being the wol but can't
like. yes, remember also has themes to do with legacy and generational trauma and the aftermath of deliberately disconnecting yourself from your culture, but it all goes back to the fact that they do not consider themself worthy of being called a hero or a good person
ursa is a hero who did everything right but still failed, and now has to live with that fact

ofc there are other themes in each of their individual stories too, but those are the major ones that tie into everything else
all of my xiv ocs are different explorations and deconstructions of the ideal "hero" tbh... remember is a hero who isn’t necessarily a "good" person, elinor is a hero who doesn't want the responsibility but it's forced on him, inanna is a hero who is scapegoated and minimized in her contributions

time to go all out, writers. what themes do you explore in your WoL/OCs character?

for example; aurora tackles themes of femininity, motherhood, womanhood, (in some cases) religion. For me when i make decisions as small as gender it can completely alter how I write a character!!
