I think what I was trying to imply was that people who still keep a presence on the other side have an easier time funneling their followers over here via automatic processes, to say nothing of the parasocial element. I do ambiently miss certain folks but rarely find myself rediscovering them

PPP: B-sides first knockout round, 2021

I’ve had three main poll runners-up; I won the last Golden Beat on Twitter (also in this list) and had another runner-up. But the B-sides often flummoxed me, and 2021 was particularly harsh: all the stuff I liked most seemed to fall in the first knockout round. Including ‘Microdosing’, a thrilling, sexy ‘Jersey Club’ track of relentless force and momentum. Although I’ve not been to this kind of club, I’ve had my fair share of hot dancefloor nights in the 20s, and this really conjures up all the energy and tension. That momentum comes from the backing track, the ‘take a dose of me” hook, Uniique3’s two rap verses, and finally a stuttering outro that fittingly leaves you breathless.
