Something that I think _everyone_ in the debate over Dems and immigration needs to take a lot more seriously: to the extent that βwhen immigration rises in salience, voters move right and punish dovish partiesβ is a thing, itβs more of a thing when doves are _the party in power._
In 2020 a crowded field of dem presidential candidates moved left on immigration, many calling to decriminalize unauthorized border entry, calling to end 3- and 10- year bars.

This is located in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago, close to Fullerton and Sheffield. It's a densely populated area near DePaul University. I'm pleased to see the community standing up against these despicable individuals.
