100%- it is time for a truce between liberals and leftists. The Republican Party is the most powerful singular threat to the American People, the United States, and mankind. The Republican Party must be destroyed.

👇👇👇
I'm already seeing centrists and leftists sniping at each other but the blame for this is 100% on the Republicans. This is what they do with power and it is imperative that we work together to keep them as far from it as possible, forever.
Exactly what we need to be saying. Good stuff, Gov
Pritzker: "Stephen Miller is clearly ordering people to break the law. So he should know that yeah, it may be three years from now that he is held accountable, but I think it's important for them to know that whatever they do now, it's not like we're going to forget."
They’re all acolytes of Nathan Robinson and other delusional leftists who have never actually met an actual person in a rural community.

Tbh I think we ought to re-masculinize society through the dispensation of brutal, merciless justice to the class of intellectual quislings who are trying to carry us back to the middle ages

Earlier this week, Governor Newsom signed SB 71 (Wiener), an Association-sponsored bill extending CEQA exemptions for transit infrastructure projects through 2040.
Thinking about climate, we’re going to have to go a lot further than IRA after the trump regime collapses. Probably nationalization of some fossil fuel companies, military buildout of renewables / transmission, national carbon tax, mass buildout of transit / dense housing, etc
In our annual Taking Stock outlook for US energy and emissions under current policy, we find the US is now on track to reduce emissions by 26-41% below 2005 levels in 2035, a meaningful shift from our outlook in 2024, which showed a steeper decline of 38-56%.

We are experiencing mass protests literally unrivaled in US history on a regular basis - protests that MAGA and the right cannot even come close to mimicking - and somehow they have convinced everyone else that it's a goofy sideshow. I assure you we wouldn't think that if the protesters had red hats
True! 👇👇 awesome, under discussed topic in the housing space. Missing middle in the SFH neighborhoods is critical, but towers around transit, especially in a greater downtown core- are critical too!
Missing middle housing is great, but in certain places cities should think bigger.

Missing massive development, to use @aarmlovi.bsky.social's coinage, is commensurate with a severe housing shortage and complimentary to high-capacity transit.

We need to talk about ‘missing massive’ housing
In most neighborhoods, missing middle housing will do the trick. But right on top of subway stations, missing massive is a worthy goal.

it has to be backed with action but this is proper leader of the opposition-coded behavior of the kind we generally don't see in the US
Today, I convened a group of former military generals and veterans to hear perspectives on deploying troops in American cities.

Their commitment is to our nation. That’s why they’re speaking out against what the President's doing as uncalled-for, unprecedented, and un-American.
SoCal government’s stay losing. When is California going to get real, dissolve these corrupt and unaccountable sham governments, and administer Southern California directly?
How is this not a bigger scandal?

LA County is paying a $2 million settlement to its highest-ranking non-elected employee because she is claiming “emotional distress” from a ballot measure that eliminates her position.

Does nobody have shame any longer?
The Kavanaugh Stop on full display. 20 children, including two with fucking cancer.
May Brett Kavanaugh never know peace.

New research from the Data/Dev team!

SB 79 will eventually zone nearly 1.5 million (1,456,150) new units of housing in the City of LA. Enough to double LA’s current housing stock of 1.37 million homes

BAM, that’s what i’m talking about. I’ve loved Chris Murphy for a long time, so it is great to hear him saying the right stuff
Chris Murphy: "This is a country that's falling apart because Trump is in the middle of an authoritarian takeover. We're not on the verge of an authoritarian takeover. We're in the middle of it ... I have no moral obligation to vote for a budget that literally funds the destruction of our democracy"
Terror state going to terrorize. May the Russian military and Putin never know peace for the rest of their miserable lives
⚡️Russian missiles pound Ukrainian cities in massive morning attack.

Explosions have been reported in Kharkiv, Ilium, Kropyvnytskyi, and Poltava. Earlier, the Air Force issued a nationwide missile warning after Russia launched MiG-31 bombers.

If a party that loses by 5 percentage points still gets to control the legislative body, do you really live in a democracy? And if you don't live in a democracy, why should your state remain a part of that union?
If Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act falls, Democrats might need to win the national popular vote by 5 to 6 points to take control of the House, via Nate Cohn

I personally think it is time to just turn the White House into a museum. The president should exemplify civic virtue and live in a nice but not lavish apartment (that has undergone extensive security stuff). Symbolize an end to the opulent corruption of the current moment.

you know I could have sworn that like ten years ago they pretended this happened against them (it didn’t) and said it was the worst offense that had ever happened (again it didn’t).

Trump is upfront in saying he will use the shutdown to punish Democrats, and here are the receipts. About $27.2 billion cut from Dem districts compared to about $0.7 billion in GOP districts.

I dunno man. I think the GOP’s Nazi problem is one of the worst problems America is currently facing!
EXCLUSIVE: Capitol Police are investigating a swastika found in GOP Rep. Dave Taylor’s office.

“The content of that image does not reflect the values or standards of this office, my staff, or myself, and I condemn it in the strongest terms," Taylor said in a statement.

NEW: Pentagon officials are forcing staff to watch Pete Hegseth's "Warrior" speech he forced generals to listen to.

Officials are even "testing" staff to see if they watched — and are threatening consequences if they lie about watching it or if they mock it, sources tell @swin24.bsky.social and I.

To be clear:

LA County has declared a state of emergency BECAUSE OF the federal government.

The Feds, LA County is (correctly) saying, have CAUSED the emergency.

This is a striking political moment of internal collapse. Local govts feeling compelled to protect their ppl from … their own govt.

Everyone agrees that we're currently in a dotcom era-like AI bubble. People disagree what sort of bubble it is.

There are 3 stories one can tell about the dotcom crash: a startup story, a telecom story, and an accounting fraud story.

My take: it's giving Enron
