People we put in position to protect us, based on degrees and proximity to wealth failed us.

I agree that a Democracy is identified by "thoughtful, reasoned, respectful, searching, inspirational" discourse.

However, genteel words shouldn't mean milque-toast response, like we see from Democrats leadership.
