The USDA is the fail safe for SNAP.

They have a contingency fund to ensure it’s covered in the event of a shutdown.

They’re refusing.

Grocery stores stepped up to try and help by offering discounts to any SNAP recipients and the USDA told them they had to stop.

Starvation as a policy choice.

It’s a great movie and that’s good. It’s not streaming and that’s bad but it’s playing on TCM and that’s good but I don’t have TCM and that’s bad. I DVRed it off TV and that’s good but it’s glitchy & full of ads and that’s good & it's bad because I can watch it but not so much I quote it annoyingly.

What’s so stupid about all of these ICE stories is it’s a misdemeanor to be in the country illegally. Imagine if a police force were hunting people down like this for unpaid parking tickets. Forget how anti-American it is at baseline but just the law part of it. So dumb. So much long term damage.

Disgraceful and—even as abhorrent as “taking advantage of youngsters immaturity” is—I think an overly generous, best-case scenario spin on what Epstein & pals did, which was serially rape youngsters who were targeted, groomed, misled, abducted, imprisoned, & trafficked in order to be serial raped.

People appear to have completely forgotten that the idea that the United States should allow people to seek asylum at the border was, at the time Biden took office, the popular, mainstream position!

In fact, Gallup showed support actually ROSE after Trump’s own “border crisis” in spring 2019.

Next, as you may know, thousands of refugees have left Honduras and other Central American countries to escape the situation there. Would you approve or disapprove of allowing these refugees to come into this country?

because ice, by hiring headhunters to kidnap immigrants, has officially dropped the pretense that these are criminal apprehensions (expired or non-existent immigration docs is a minor civil infraction btw), so just going after dark people generically is straight up ethnic cleansing.
