An extraordinary discovery was made in Ibiza: a 30-centimeter wooden sculpture representing Hercules. Considering the scarcity of wooden sculptures preserved from the Roman era, this discovery is truly remarkable.

1922 wurde u.a. das Papierformat A0 eingeführt. Es hat einen Flächeninhalt von genau einem Quadratmeter und ein Seitenverhältnis von 1:√2 (1:1,414). Faltet man A0 viermal in der Mitte, erhält man das Format A4. Daher hat das bekannte A4 die „krumme“ Abmessung 210 x 297 mm

Das Schema zeigt die Aufteilung eines Bogens der Reihe A.
Die Formate (Klassen 1 bis 8, …) ergeben sich jeweils durch Halbierung des vorherigen Formats.
