Table For One Please.

Happy to hear this billboard is still up in Vancouver, was a pleasure to work with @visionzerovancouver.ca.
side of a building with a billboard that says smoking tables next to non-smoking tables used to be normal too and picture of child biking beside a truck on painted bike lane

Great thread here, shows the ‘green record’ of Heather Humphreys.

Is this what ‘pro business’ means?

Let's explore the Green credentials of Heather Humphreys - The woman former GP member Brian Leddin thinks should be president.
She advocated for an increased burn period during her time as Minister for Heritage, as well as prolonging the period during which hedgerows could be cut. #Spéirgorm 1/n

Why is the Government delaying publication of the land use review?

As someone who participated in the process, I would say it's because the government does not like what the Land Use Review reveals or the scale of change it necessitates.

Eamon Ryan: Why is the Government delaying publication of the land use review?
Fears around the report are misplaced and it is long past time for it to be published

We were a bit nervous recording our first podcast with Ireland’s IPCC superstar @peterthorne.bsky.social but @drclarenoone.bsky.social and I had a great chat with him 🙂

As someone who works on climate change if left me with a lot to reflect on, in a good way #climateaction #hope & everyday chats
cc-offtherecord.bsky.social
“Even in our lives climate change is not the only thing we have going on…”

It was so nice to chat with @peterthorne.bsky.social about how important it is to have everyday conversations about climate change with everybody

Maybe instead of asking about candidate's pets a week before polling day, media could ask candidates their view on existential threats like #climatechange? Just a thought..

It might sound a bit hippy dippy, but what’s really clear to me is that whatever damage we are doing to nature we are doing just as much if not more to ourselves psychologically

Given a choice between
1. Honouring commitments on fighting one of (if not THE) greatest ever threats to humanity - climate breakdown
2. Cute hoor politics

Fianna Fáil opt for ... Cute hoor politics.

Leopards, spots, and all that.

Investigation after more than 30 acres of native trees - some centuries old - felled in Co Cork.

At a time when a nationwide Nature Restoration Plan is being drafted we still see rare habitats being destroyed, often with very little consequence #RestoreNature

Added to which there is a policy of helping polluters to meet the standard for compliance, rather than prosecuting in the higher courts for repeat offenders.

This policy has worked for some businesses, but probably sends a message to others about polluting being consequence free.

The Derryadd Bog complex supports nationally important populations of wintering Whooper Swan, a qualifying interest of the Lough Ree SPA. BNM should be allowing these bogs to restore themselves instead of pumping them dry to facilitate a wind farm that’s already been quashed in the High Court
midshannon.bsky.social
Whoopers return to the bogs for 2025. As usual, BNM continues to remove their habitats through unauthorised methods with the blind eye from local authority & Gov.

Drink the wine, make all the love, spray yourself with the good perfume every day. Stuff the larder, gather your tribe, build your community, learn to save seeds, create growing spaces, teach yourself how to preserve, be dead on, buy solar panels and don't worry about the small stuff.

The Taoiseach creates a false choice here. Climate Action is about making life better, making energy cheaper, making our atmosphere cleaner.
But that requires leadership. We see none from this Government.
