as much as I love them one thing I always disliked about the Redwall books was the designation of certain species as constitutionally evil. I think rats and weasels should be friends with mice and shrews

It seems like he helps a LOT indirectly too, just by being observant and sharing those observations with his teammates (and not just when he's on base, though that is very funny). And he almost always has quality at-bats, which I really appreciate.
