If you didn't know republicans were racists in the 1990s, that's because from your POV they were at an acceptable level of racist. There was enough breathing room for you to maybe deny it in public. LOL yeah, all they had to do was get a degree, then go to teacher's college, then starve as a TA before finally getting the chance to teach 40+ kids per class, many of whom have insane parents. It sounds sooo easy when you think about it!

I've seen comments of folks getting upset Canada Post works get up to 7 weeks vacation time. That's after 25+ yrs of working for them. The question isn't why they get 7 weeks. The question is, why are your work benefits so shitty?

I got 6 weeks paid vacation after 15 years but I'm capped out now.

If I start getting a little fluffy, I change things up in the diet and at the gym. I do realize I am lucky in that I only have to worry about myself and I'm very wired to fall into routines, but it works and is low stress.

It's very hard to measure, unless you are meticulous and weigh everything, which is insane and can cause disordered eating. I don't really count anything, I just generally aim for a minimum threshold of fiber and protein. I'm lucky that I auto-regulate very well.

You absolutely cannot trust people to self-report what they eat. People always underestimate what they eat and overestimate how active they are. If the study wasn't done in a metabolic ward, you can more or less discard it entirely.

I absolutely love reading an article that claims that calories don't matter, then they cite a study that has the following caveats:

It makes perfect sense when you consider that legumes pack more fibre and beneficial fats than red meat.

But like any research, this study has its limits. The trial lasted just six weeks, which isn't long enough to see lasting effects.

Only men participated, so we can't say if women would see similar results. The participants tracked their own food intake, which can sometimes be unreliable.

I liked the second season, even if it felt like a rehash of the first. But I was done after that. I just didn't feel any desire to keep going with it. The "check out how 80s this is" vibe was also offputing.
