I, too, put SteamOS on a Windows-based Legion Go S, and the difference in performance is damning for Microsoft. Handheld Windows needs fixed — or abandoned.

Darksiders 3 was pretty alright for a Soulslike. Having fun movement/puzzle options helped. Combat was meh though. Felt most bosses were super samey since so much was just dodge>counter. Didnt have the awkward ridgid interactions with npcs that 2 had. Fury dumb and mad.

Unrelated to anything else, last night I dreamed I was playing Quest 64. No lie.

Brian was slightly older/taller, and it had late-PS2/early PS3 levels of visual fidelity to the world. I was exploring a lush down-sloping canyon.

The shipyard area of Darksiders 3 is either really poorly optimized or it just doesnt mesh with the Steam Deck's translation layer. Game performance was tanking, textures werent loading, and things were blinking. Left the area and everything is fine again

Which I have my own theories that the specs for that game were kept high to try to push people to microsoft streaming nonsense.

It's just kinda ironic the Deck has more problems with older games than a lot of newer releases

I can really appreciate the Steam Deck being successful enough that devs are working towards getting verified status for games, even though it's weaker hardware. Kinda surprised Ninja Gaiden 4 is verified. Only recent game I can think of that isn't is Doom Dark Ages
