From 1965 through 2017 when Obama made a deal with Cuba in his last days in office, Cubans on U.S. soil could not be deported to Cuba. There are senior citizens ordered deported in the 1970s who are still here decades after serving their time. Now Trump is dumping some of them in Mexico.
Cubans with criminal records in the U.S. are being quietly deported to Mexico
The Trump administration is quietly sending hundreds of Cubans and other immigrants with significant criminal records in buses across the border to Mexico, in an expansion of third-country deportation...

59% of Americans - including 80% of Democrats and 41% of Republicans - think the U.S. should recognize Palestinian statehood. This comes as both the Democratic and Republican parties oppose unilateral recognition.

Every single person who has written an article about underage marriage in a non rich country without mentioning the situation in the US: F U
Mind you, the states that allow marriage between children and adults do not allow said married children to divorce their adult spouse

Because they're children
I now pronounce you child and legal guardian who the child can't even legally divorce until she's an adult

I love that the guy listed his blood type like that, in the event that he had to be Medevac’ed out of the Battle of Manhattan and there was too much chaos at the nearby Combat Support Hospital

There's a very long, strong literature in political science and psychology on the role that protests contribute to change at multiple levels, from the individual to social norms, to network development, to resource mobilization and more macro. Much is conditional on how they are organized.

one of my friends made a joke about 'going into the tattoo parlor and saying "I'm a huge Deadhead"' and of course Grim takes the same line seriously. he really is just an astonishingly stupid and/or dishonest person.
Surest sign that there's worse to come is Ryan Grim signing up to defend him for free

Fantastic idea.
NEW — I'm suing DC Metro Police for the full body cam footage from the DOGE raid on the US Institute of Peace back in March.

The public deserves to know why MPD chose to sell out the people they’re tasked with protecting in order to bend to Trump's will. I'm repped pro bono by @rcfp.org.

State rep. Hoan Huynh shared video of agents surrounding his vehicle/stopping him + staffers shortly after he said one agent pointed a gun inside his vehicle at him while another threatened to break a window. They were following feds in Albany Park after four people were reportedly taken.

Story tk.

Ah yes, the cop tense. “The agent’s weapon discharged.” I have never seem any news outlet describe it this way when a civilian shoots someone.

I mean it’s already extremely on the nose but if their plans get repeatedly denied and we just go the remainder of the term with a crater where the East Wing used to be it will be the best visual metaphor for this administration imaginable

It is bizarro world to say that it is *easier* to spend money on something if there is no appropriation -- no legal account to move money into -- for that purpose. The only emergency is that Congress has chosen to not appropriate for that purpose!
Lawless and unconstitutional, not "reprogramming"
I never mentioned elections. Also this is why I literally said it’s helpful and not the end all be all. Again, they’re not BS and to say they are is ignorant:
Definitely not primary, but I am 100% a victim of AIPAC. Them and Likud increase antisemitism significantly, they the Administration should shut them down.
Im speaking from direct knowledge as I’ve worked on Capitol Hill and as a community organizer.
I don’t understand this all or nothing attitude. Direct action is super important but not everyone is going to do it.

Crowd size is obsessed over by both R and D electeds, they often act or don’t act based on it.

It’s a media victory, tells the WH there’s a sizable opposition.

Political organizing rarely sees as good a day as Saturday, Oct. 18.

No Kings protests brought millions of Americans into the streets, some for the first time. Organizers moved through crowds, getting signatures, passing out info, finding new members.

That's one of 6 things No Kings accomplished:
7 Things the No Kings Protests Accomplished

Anti-imperialist teams up with opposing empire—a tale as old as empire.
Actually, we can. Direction action isn’t the only useful form of engagement or mobilization.

These were very helpful on the national political stage for multiple reasons.
