David Lynch: "Barry Gifford is a killer f**kin' writer...ROY'S WORLD captures his childhood and that time in Chicago, and many other places. I really enjoyed watching it and then contemplating what goes on inside a person with this history." My film is streaming! letterboxd.com/film/roys-wo...

Fuck this fucking guy. This isn’t his city. It’ll be here long after him and his goons are gone.
Lawyers play a video that was played for Bovino. In it, he tells agents "everybody fucking gets it if they touch you."

"This is OUR fucking city," Bovino tells them.

NEW: Footage of a US citizen in Chicago being rammed then dragged from her car on her way to work.

Abducted, with no warrant, her family couldn’t find her for hours.

She was later released with NO CHARGE.

A DHS statement said she “violently resisted arrest, injuring two officers”.

You decide…
The opening conversation in MY LAST MARTINI references technofeudalism--my way of sharing something that's been on my mind for awhile.
Welcome to technofeudalism on steroids: Just 8 of the S&P500 companies account for 35% of the entire US market’s value, 69% of the gains since the market bottomed in April, and almost 80% of the S&P 500’s net income growth in the last year.

In a week when Nvidia’s value reached $5tn, investors in even the broadest index of global companies are now heavily exposed to the AI boom

One of the reasons I sometimes miss 2001.
POV: It is 2001 and you have just walked into any hotel bar in the entire world

On the other site, an 18-year-old Zohran canvasser described the legendary Wallace Shawn as "the actor who plays Dr. Sturgis on Young Sheldon" which is honestly adorable
Wish I could have afforded a ticket!
I once heard novelist Russell Banks refer to Chicago as "the Toronto of the South." Has always stuck with me.
