It's hard to be this vulnerable online, but I feel like the bucket of cold water is extremely necessary to understand how exhausted we all are.

We've lost and rebuilt our audiences a dozen times, pivoted, weathered storms, added additional streams of revenue, and the sisyphus boulder gets heavier.

just in case anyone needs the confirmation - our class had an editor from a well-known comics publisher come in today and told us she won't even look at the dead bird app anymore when they're looking for artists. hosting your own website for your art (or here on bsky!) is the best right now.
