1/2 People keep asking why ICE can get away with doing this without identifying themselves. The requirement for federal agents to identify themselves when making arrests applies to *most* but not all situations, such as undercover work.

2/2 Drawing a hard line between undercover and normal operations was a norm respected by all previous administrations. Trump has turned this loophole in the identification requirement into Mt. Saint Helens, so that basically the requirement no longer exists.
