Yes, there's Nazis in Ukraine, as they are everywhere. Europe has a far right problem. Last month in Portugal, a man offered a cash prize to people willing to kill Brazillians living in the country. Italy is ruled by a woman so much to the right that Mussolini's granddaughter noped out of her party.

It's easier to believe an invasion is justified, if you're told it's done to bad, bad people. "Denazification of Ukraine" was neccessary to justify invasion in 2022 and subsequent war crimes. This lie, obvious to anyone familiar with the region, found fertile ground the farther it traveled.

Ukrainians. USSR famously smeared the Hungarian communists who rebelled against soviet imperialism in 1956 as "hitlerites", as soviet tanks rolled through the streets, massacring workers. Some western communists believed the lie and celebrated the soviet invasion. Thus the term "tankie" was born.

In 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine, they did so under the guise of "denazification" of their neighbour. The state propaganda went hard in on it, trying to convince people both inside and outside of Russia. After all, soldiers are happier to go into the meat grinder when convinced they're fighting

As if there are only two options, supporting imperialist war or imperialist peace. Particularly in Germany (whose arms industry significantly supports both Israel and Ukraine), people, particularly anarchists, should not be warmongering. The NATO war effort doesn't need anarchist support anyway.
