Our 2025 tomato harvest reflects this
We enjoyed a Kansas City growing season in the Twin Cities this year. 🍂
It hit 30F at MSP this morning. 1st freeze since April 8.
Our 199 day growing season looks like it will end up as the 4th longest on record.
Record is 219 days set in 2016.

The temperatures dropped below freezing at MSP Airport for the first time this fall Friday morning.

I've never met Saint Paul mayoral candidate Yan Chen but last night I dreamt we pulled up the car in front of the house and she (along with an unknown assistant) was digging a large hole next to our oak tree in the boulevard. I have no idea what this means but it made me angry.
There was also the time he tried to make spare ribs on the grill. This can work if you know how to use indirect heat, but these turned out completely desiccated. He 'ate' them all. I say 'ate' because it was hard to distinguish meat from bone but he made an strong effort.
My sister just reminded me of the time our dad made clam chowder and accidentally used powdered sugar to thicken it instead of flour. Instead of throwing it out, he ate the whole batch.
Haven't met the owner but people seem to enjoy working there and I've always had good experiences. Dog friendly, too!
They want you to know there is no cuddling happening here. Large cat is extremely territorial. Small cat doesn't give a shit
Didn't get a pic of the creature but here is the setting
I've spent approximately 40% of the last 10 days in the woods. Need to find a way to make this a regular thing during at least 5 months of the year.
Update: Indeed, I saw a porcupine! Expected it to be up in a tree but instead got to watch one amble across the forest floor for about a minute
Hoping this is the weekend I see a porcupine in the wild🤞

Cover and add liquid as necessary. Add any garden veg you have (beets/kale are nice) and maybe some mushrooms. A splash of wine is also nice and also some fresh herbs at the end. After a long hike this will be the best thing you've ever eaten.
Feel free to include my favorite fall camping recipe. In a cast-iron dutch oven, brown some sausage meat and aromatics (onion/carrot/celery/garlic, etc.). I do this over the camp stove. Then transfer to the campfire and add lentils (French green are nice), water, woody herbs (bay/thyme) 1/
We have a huge announcement. We are proud to announce The Lentil Book. It will be a while before it’s available, but it will be the definitive book on lentils. From Norton.
Totally agree! It was a great weekend to be up there
I was camping at Jay Cooke over the weekend. Never have I seen the park so busy with day visitors. Parking lot full, cars all along 210. Yet we saw virtually no one on our longer hikes. The leaf peepers rarely stray far from pavement.
Fall colors are peaking in parts of Minnesota 🍁 Use the @mnstateparks.bsky.social fall color map to plan your trip and 511mn.org to check traffic and construction before you head north on I-35!
How fun! That rock formation looks amazing
Jealous (of the latter)
Well this sucks. Open to WI residents only
I love this, definitely going to think on it and submit an entry.

“Typically, only 40% of the fish is used, and that’s the fillet. Finding ways to use the remaining 60% will help us reduce waste and create new economic opportunities in Wisconsin.”
Could this whitefish be a hat? A drink? The elixir of life? 🧪

Submit your ideas on how to use the whole fish to the 100% Wisconsin Fish contest for a chance to win a #GreatLakes prize pack!

In 2019 when I was interviewing for the job of anti-surveillance activist at EFF I was asked what is biggest civil liberties threat that no is talking about yet---and my answer at the time was Ring. Given the general climate and its capabilities, it's even worse now.

Get. Rid. Of. Your. Ring.
