If you want to get just how rigged the tax system is for the rich, have a read of this tip from the AFR "wealth reporter"

The greatest risk to our national security is a gormless Deputy PM making life & death decisions based on US sycophancy.

And a PM who has shown little sign of reining him in.

A perfect example of why NO decisions to commit the nation to war should be made without full parliamentary debate. #auspol

Key aspect was that 1 in 5 people thought the changes to tax concessions of super balances over $3m would affect them.

In reality, it's about 1 in 200.

Easy test: if you don't know how much is in your super you won't be affected (because people with $3m in their super sure as sh*t know it)
Our research found more than half of Australians support or strongly support reducing tax concessions for super balances over $3 million.

The polling found 52% backed the idea, while 26% of people oppose or strongly oppose the changes and 22% are undecided.

Australia's gas production gives our little colony the dubious honour of being a top 'planet wrecker'.
There's a new Tourism Australia campaign in there somewhere surely?
"We f*cked your reef, come see ours before we finish f*cking that too"?

So the NT government axed our renewable energy target, takes big donations from foreign fracking companies, created powers for an ex gas executive to sidestep our laws for select projects, and lied about the cost of the renewable transition. Time for the federal government to invest in NT renewables
A renewable energy report hidden by the former Labor government has revealed the cost of meeting the Territory's 50 per cent renewable electricity targets by 2030 was roughly $280 million and would come with moderate electricity price increases, but also with lower operating costs, which contradic…

"There is plenty of potential for surprise victories and shock defeats at the forthcoming election. Community independents are running in at least four Labor-held seats. What should surprise nobody is that every vote in every seat will count on election day." theconversation.com/australias-e...
Australia’s embrace of independent political candidates shows there’s no such thing as a safe seat
The surge of successful independent MPs at the 2022 election shows no sign of changing – and in fact may grow more powerful still.

People are tired of the two major parties— for good reason.

This is our opportunity to choose something better. A representative who puts the community first, not the party machine.

It’s time the Top End had a voice of its own in Canberra.

The election has been called — on Saturday 3 May! This election matters — for our country, and for our community here in Solomon.

We finally have a real chance to hold the major parties to account and send someone to Canberra who listens, who shows up, and who votes for us.

You can send things to me and I'll work to factcheck during the election campaign (which, for my sins, I will be live blogging) 🫠
ABC RMIT Fact Check has stopped its work, and Meta has ceased third-party fact-checking on its social media sites, putting Australian voters in a worrying misinformation landscape.
Why voting in a fact-checking void should worry you
Australian voters heading to the polls need to be aware there's little standing between them and potential manipulation of information by vested interests.

The campaign for the Northern Territory seat of Solomon is in progress as Climate 200-backed independent Phil Scott challenges the current Labor electorate.

“I’m running because the people of Darwin and Palmerston deserve a lot better than the offerings they’ve got now,” Mr Scott said.

Gas company tax is paying for the wages of nurses?
Yeah. Nah.
Over the past decade, nurses paid more tax than oil & gas companies

Gas companies are taking the piss.

This is the difference between community independents and the major parties. Each independent votes for their communities interests, not a party line.
