Mother Nature is waaay to early with the Christmas theme this year

#vancouver #vancity
Red leaves caught in a green hedge. This is looking down from above Green hedge and sidewalk/pavement with a sprinkling of red leaves on the top of the hedge, triggering thoughts of Christmas on a September walk. ('everything is advertising!' they told us in the 80s, the fuckers) Another in view of red and green

I’ve been seeing quite a few Monarchs lately, but this was the first time I’ve seen this beauty.
🦋🌸
A Queen Butterfly on a pink Cosmos. The upper side of their wings are a deep orange with the black edges and little white spots, more white spots curves across the wings. Blurry flowers, other foliage and trees are in the background. A Queen Butterfly and a Skipper share a pink zinnia. The underside of the Queen is similar to the Monarch and Viceroy with its own little details. The stem of the flower and another stem and leaves are visible on the left side and the background is an overhead door and a little bit of awning.

Turnip Rock, Michigan. I found this image through an old imgur link (where it had been deleted), but it had been saved on archive.org. I did not have any luck finding the original photographer through a reverse image search, but if you do know who took this picture, comment below.
#naturephotography
A photo of Turnip Rock, in the state of Michigan, U.S.A. As it's name might suggest, the rock is shaped somewhat like a turnip; its base is very narrow, while its top part is more bulbous. Adding to the resemblance, trees grow on top of the rock much like turnip stalks. Turnip Rock is located on The Thumb of Michigan, near where Lake Huron meets land. The rock itself is surrounded by water; it is shallow enough other submerged brown rocks can be seen in the photo. Surrounding the base of Turnip Rock, the water has a distinctive green color.

Gerade im Schwierigen
müssen wir unsere Freuden,
unser GIück, unsere Träume
haben:
dort stechen sie vor der Tiefe dieses Hintergrunds hervor, dort sehen wir zum ersten Mal, wie schön sie sind.
