Almost all the dudes I know with them were from 8th and 6th Marines, and a few from 2nd. Definitely a unit thing, and more popular in certain battalions than others for sure.

God no. You could read through my post history and see that I'm pretty radically left.
But this is a specific culture that I am close with, and know intimately. I'm not being willfully obtuse, I'm explaining something that is far more nuanced than you're willing to understand.

While I'm on The Party manefesto -
"Break down barriers to opportunity". Admirable items all on a list, but then Labour backed the Cass report, which throws up some nasty barriers.

These are not good looks for a Party I once thought would be my default choice.

So let's see change. For better.
