So far, I've had a lot of good experiences in Fallout London where random downtown interiors hit the right balance for a side dungeon without falling off the spectrum into "completely boring and unrewarding waste of time" or "accidentally committed to an insane slog of a quest chain."

Fallout New Vegas emphasized side dungeons by tying many of them to side quests, whether you had started them first or not, which loses a bit of the random exploration for its own sake feel but makes the Mojave click like a giant puzzle box, which turned out to be a great aesthetic in its own right.

Fallout 4 had all these same tools, but the settlement stuff was so front-and-center that side dungeons felt more emphasized as places to loot duct tape and circuit boards and other crafting materials than anything that advanced the core player experience.

Now that I can finally play Fallout London, one compliment I'll throw its way is that I feel it does a really good job at making random side dungeons feel hand-crafted, fun, & rewarding to pop into and clear on your way to main objectives - stat-boosting coasters in pubs being one great example.

I worked with a lawyer many years ago who would thank me before I left work each night. “Bye Fi. Have a good night. Thanks for everything today.” It sounds ridiculous but it made a massive difference to how I felt about my job at the time.

Scroll aaaaaaaalll the way to the bottom and you'll see "Text and Image Generation."

TURN IT OFF.
