Suppose it'd be remiss of me not to exploit a new social media platform to try and flog a few books. So, if anyone's interested, here's a clip from the audiobook version of my 2015 novel The World Is (Not) A Cold Dead Place, which came out last year, on Audible.

In terms of shortlists, I can never look at one without thinking about the other books, equally good, that might have been there.
That said, get voting. I’m delighted that The Benefactors is here in such lovely company. www.irishbookawards.ie/vote/
That's brilliant and deserved. Some great writers on there but Benefactors gets my vote.
Just ban the team involved, and if multiple teams at a club involved then ban the club, as well as individual players and coaches. All for zero tolerance at youth football but not fair to punish the ones who've done nothing.

Massive fan of these ragebaiting woke football stickers.

That Everton one is pure distilled art, no part of it is wasted.
Michael Rooker has played some dark characters in the past but bloody hell...
This Burns Night Has Opened My Eyes.
He also adopts a Glasgae accent when he's singing along to Malcolm Middleton.
Tickets for @sugarcopperblue.bsky.social secured for that London in May. Let The Act We Act Begin...
Maybe someone at Labour should be saying something along these lines? Or is that a silly idea ?
People who have come to the United Kingdom legally, played by the rules and made it their home do not need to “go home”. This is their home.

@eddavey.libdems.org.uk has written to Kemi Badenoch to give her the chance to reject these divisive calls from her frontbencher Katie Lam.
Solo pint in Northampton town centre if anyone wants a quick, efficient and utterly devasting act of brutality committing upon their person/persons.
Has Henry Winter taken a severe knock to the noggin ?

His uncle was a top shagger, understandable the rate has dropped since he died
Sounds more like Dyche every day.
RFK Jr: "When my uncle was president, the fertility rate in this country was 3.5%. Today it is 1.6%. The replacement rate -- in other words the amount of fertility you need to keep your population even -- is 2.1%. We are below replacement. That is a national security threat to our country."
Shares a birthday with Graeme Sharp, don't ya know ?
And the maestro is 65 today. Happy birthday Bob.

Evertonian, Arteja Folla needs your help.

Trafficked into modern slavery from Albania by a criminal gang, she has made a life in Liverpool and now she faces deportation back into the hands of the people who trafficked her.

Ari is a lovely, thoughtful and compassionate woman, who I know personally.

Yer Da meaning me, obvs. Keep catching myself doing it and wanting to punch myself.
Yer Da sings along to Fontaines DC in an Irish accent.
My view of them overall is that they made music for people who don't really like music. Obviously this is a flimsy theory and I know lots of fans who instantly disprove it. But, irrational though it might be, that's my overriding impression of them.
The continued success of that song, reaching number 1 multiple times across several decades, is as great a stain on this nation's history as its bloodthirsty acts in the name of empire-building.
Quite rightly dismissed by Jarvis Cocker as a novelty song when voted best song ever on a channel 4 programme. He said anyone voting for that had might as well have voted for Shaddap You Face by Joe Dolce. Brian May was sitting on the couch with him at the time.

Really enjoying digging into Queen's extensive back catalogue again. Freddie really was just the ultimate frontman wasn't he?
Can’t wait to start reading the new Richard Osman!
