1/2 Sberbank's 2024 annual results record a noticeable increase in lending to government; federal bonds grew from 3% to 9% of it's asset portfolio. In theory this should produce a "safer" bank (as government bonds attract no/minimal risk weights when calculating capital adequacy).

For an explanation of why Ukraine's recent targeting of refineries has been so effective, see here. In short, they are now targeting Atmospheric Distillation Units (ADUs) or 'crackers', in which crude oil is heated up for its components to be separated and extracted. 3/4

The Ukrainian strikes against the 330kV substation at Simferopol and the 220kV 'Kafa' substation near Feodosia may prove devastating for the electricity grid on Crimea.

Without these two electrical nodal points, much of the peninsula will be confined to cold and darkness.
