Los Angeles County voted to declare a state of emergency in response to federal ICE raids. Normally reserved for natural disasters, the declaration allows the county to mobilize resources and offer assistance to residents impacted by the raids.

Also once you paywall everything and it still doesn’t make you enough money to pay employees who have to pay their ever increasing bills the next step is ads and eventually you’ll look like every other news outlet and then you’ll pick up their shitty practices and we’ll be back at step one.

As we watch the corporate news media kill itself I think the independent news media needs to take a hard look at itself and determine if they just wanna pick up the customers falling off the mainstream or if they wanna report the news. One of those clearly does not benefit from paywalls.

The problem with paywalls is that it seems a lot of people who should know better don’t want to manage them so an article about some celebrity’s opinion is given the same importance as a story about an innocent man dying in custody that should be accessible to everyone for the sake of social good.

Today is the birthday one of the most talented creators in TTRPGs, Jennell Jaquays, who passed away last year. Jennell was one of our company's earliest artists, and played an prominent role in Chaosium's success over many years, as an illustrator and writer.
