Dear Journalists, Muckslingers, adherents to the Ivan the Smearer playbook, and those who genuinely wish to know her position.

We all know if it was Connolly she'd be hammered with the same questions over and over again in every single 'interview' and 'debate'.

Heather isn't even asked about her dismal record as minister for...*waves hands vaguely...* every position she held...

Survivors of industrial and reformatory schools have been on hunger strike outside the Dáil now for 23 days.

They and other survivors need justice. They need access to HAA medical cards and full state contributory pension.

The government must act now.

Heather Humphreys refuses to confirm she failed to tell the land agency she’s not entitled to a tax exemption on one of her properties – a criminal offence

Media refuses to question her – TD Thomas Gould has called on Humphreys to explain her tax issues

Humphreys stays silent on property affairs
Media indulges her silence.

Are Irish people so insular that they failed to realise Brexit had sizable support on the British Left?

Main issues were it's lack of democracy (still true), and neo-liberal polices (also still true).
Today we could add it's support and funding of Israel.

You gently run your hand through the rack. You can feel it—pure cotton, rich wool, Irish linen. The plump buttonholes are handsewn; the buttons attached with a firm shank. You flip the price tag over. It's affordable

You buy the jacket and go home, which is only 15 mins away. Your apt is $600/month

The future voters seem firmly in Catherine Connolly's corner.

"Another ball was handed to the Catherine Connolly TD in Leixlip as she was mobbed by children at Scoil Mhuire and Scoil Cearbhaill Uí Dhalaigh, a gaelscoil named for a former president."

There, she signed Irish books and homework diaries.

Busy day for presidential candidates on the campaign trail
Catherine Connolly was whisked around Kildare, while Heather Humphreys focused on Dublin city centre.

Here is a list of some of the Irish owners of slaves in the Caribbean who were paid compensation when the British abolished slavery.
Note: Peter Howe Browne. He was a direct descendant of Gráinne Ní Mháille, yes Granuaile herself.

Pro-Lifer Mary Hanafin, the virulently anti-Marriage Quality Mary Coughlan, Brian Ledden who called a female ex-partner 'unhinged', and Pauline O'Reilly who got 6% of the vote in the constituency Catherine Connolly represents.

They were never going to support Connolly.

#speirgorm looking for a favour. Would anyone be willing to show me what an Irish Gender Recognition Cert looks like, by dm if preferred? When I search online I'm flooded with awful TERF stuff. I want to make Son's birthday cake look like a GRC, as being able to apply is the highlight of turning 18!

And no. They were not all 'English' settlers.

For example take Mr Florence O'Sullivan of Kinsale who owned over 2 thousand acres (unspecified number of enslaved people but he wasn't working that land himself) in Carolina in 1680.

Dear the Irish were 'slaves' cohort.

Here's some information you won't want to read.

I was amazed when I moved back to Ireland in the 90s at the lack of induction loops in places like banks, cinemas etc. I still am.
Such a simple way to help make places more accessible.

I have sensory sensitivity so sounds going directly into my head are torture. I learned this when Walkmans came out. Only headphones I'll use are the big ones, and only over one ear.

But aside from that the thought of those yokes in my ears gives me nausea. And itchy ears

For years my O neg wasn't allowed as I lived in UK during the mad cow years, now it's no good to them as I'm insulin dependent.
I used to donate a few times a year.

There's no way I'm sticking wee white yokes in my ears.
There's nothing I need to hear so urgently that I can't find a quiet place to listen to it.
Nor do I need to be endlessly entertained.

i have never, not once, listened to a song on spotify unless it was playing at somebody else's place

It's fascinating how trans women can have this alleged advantage at the same time as being barred from participating.

To win when you haven't been allowed to compete isn't an advantage, it's a fucking superpower.
