I got obsessed with data in college and have always relied on it for my work. I'd never seen a government agency exclude data about an entire racial group until last week.

I saw a squirrel for the first time in days when I let Reggie out today. The squirrel was eating a nut or something, minding its own business, then he saw Reggie, did a spit take and ran away

Oh man. Reggie killed a squirrel last week and I take full responsibility and will no longer encourage him to protect the bird bath but tbh kind of nice to go from a million squirrels to zero bc I guess word got out in the squirrel community

As someone who grew up around a brand of evangelical toxic paternalism I must say, controlling men feel threatened when they see people living free. It asks them to challenge their stereotypes about masculinity in a way that is very uncomfortable—they learn how weak their version of a man really is.

I know of one paper that does this, the paper in grants pass, or, and I’ve bought a one day pass for i think just $1 many times. No one wants to subscribe to something with a hard paywall bc they don’t know what they’re going to get.
