This is a huge issue. Way too many people will assume that after Trump things will return to normal, but Trump has shown how badly broken the system is, and that without wide, intelligent reform, this will all happen again.
Certainly the text is. Depends on who captured the video. But their other point, that it's misleading, i don't think it's true at all. Reagan made all the points in the ad, he just wanted a one-off for Japan. Very different from Trump who is tariffing everyone.
But in the speech, Reagan argues that his Japanese tariff is a one-off and specifically for a trade agreement violation. He then goes on to make all the points that are in the ad, so it hardly seems unfair, much less fake, given the warnings against trade wars like Trump's.
It's definitely real, but the Reagan Foundation isn't happy either.

Here's the statement from the Reagan Foundation.

"The ad misrepresents the Presidential Radio Address, and the Government of Ontario did not seek nor receive permission to use and edit the remarks."

CZ pleaded guilty to a criminal money laundering charge and was sentenced to prison.

But then he financed President Trump’s stablecoin and lobbied for a pardon.

Today, he got it.

If Congress does not stop this kind of corruption, it owns it.
So, not the mayor or governor who are actually responsible, but for the guys who are afraid it might slow down their hiring.
"Mr. Trump said in a post on Truth Social that he had stopped the federal action in San Francisco at the request of friends who live in the Bay Area," says the Times, including Salesforce's Marc Benioff and Nvidia's Jensen Huang.

I'm not sure how the EU will manage the centuries of political intrigue and rivalries in Europe within a joint CIA entity. Still, the fact that European powers are discussing the creation of their own CIA-style spy agency speaks volumes about the level of distrust between Brussels & Washington, DC.
Capitalism always capitulates.
"corporate anxiety about rocking the boat with our coverage became a constant"

Capitalism always capitulates. Corporations have no ethics, only concern for profits.
Another disturbing example of how Trump silences dissent: "the chief content officer for our parent company... stated in a meeting that we should not run articles that could draw the attention of the Trump White House and have them try to shut us down." www.politico.com/news/magazin...

So many ways to spell privilege.
Cray-cray.
We've seen religious elites and social media warriors call for the end of women’s suffrage. But we don’t have a sense of how everyday Americans feel about women’s political rights.

Until now.

We preview new survey results about repeal of the 19th Amendment and adoption of a household vote.
The Coming Battle Over Women’s Suffrage
By Paul A. Djupe and Brooklyn Walker [Image credit. National Women’s History Museum.] Every election cycle, millions of women cast votes. For many of them, their right to vote seems uncontroversial…

Work / life balance.
In France, we pride ourselves on enjoying life’s simple pleasures: food, drink, and the occasional grand larceny. To rush through these things would not just disrupt our leisurely schedule; it would be a sin. One must savor the moment, not run from robbery to robbery like a buffoon.

Oh, they missed was chance to make a No Kings reference with Aesop's fables about the frogs who wanted a king. Technically not medieval, but they did name drop Aesop.
Weirdly, the Historic Preservation Act exempts the White House, Capitol, and Supreme Court. I suppose they're next. 😬

Pretty sure you'd be better off watching a YouTube video and operating on yourself than letting Musk's robot do it.
Musk says Tesla's new mission of sustainable abundance is about creating a world with "no poverty" and universal free healthcare, because the robot will be an "incredible surgeon" (?)

He articulates this new and utterly insane "mission" with incredibly low energy, underlining its absurdity.
Now hiring reporters for the Pentagon pillow beat.
Not The Onion.
The Pentagon announces they are replacing The New York Times’ press credentials with the MyPillow guy’s media outlet.
Economically, I think libertarians are misguided, but I appreciate them being true to their roots politically and calling out the administration.
Latest: I wrote about the DHS Office of Public Affairs shameless lies about ICE arrests and all the times it's lied to me and other reporters lately.

DHS did not respond to my request for comment about all the lies it's told. reason.com/2025/10/22/h...

I'd say as an adult, the two biggest barriers are time and boredom. You need to put in a lot of time and playing the same things over and over can feel frustrating. Kids have lots of free time and while they do get bored, they don't have the same sense of knowing what "good" sounds like.
People should think more about failures modes. My stove, washer, and dryer all "want" to be connected to the internet, but I've never set them up because it introduces problems with no observable benefits.
The AWS outage bricked people's $2,700 smartbeds, leaving them in a reclining position or with the heat up. People were unable to use them, basically. A GitHub repo exists that lets people operate their beds without reliance on the normal infrastructure

The AWS Outage Bricked People’s $2,700 Smartbeds
When Amazon Web Services went offline, people lost control of their cloud-connected smart beds, getting stuck in reclined positions or roasting with the heat turned all the way up.

While I agree Naziism is a bridge too far, don't underestimate the power of information silos and groupthink. My brother is a health tech, and between a healthy disgust for the waste in the system, big pharma, and getting into prepper podcasts, he's got some odd ideas. Fortunately, not full antivax.
I was at a tech party where he was a guest in the mid 1980s and he was accompanied by a very good looking young woman at the time. Of course, he was in his 30s and still an eligible bachelor at the time, so it wasn't too weird, but with all that money, I'm sure he's always had companions.
Plus there's the question of individual sales vs large organizations that are pushing an agenda.
