👇🎯 Even if AI has all the positive, transformative effects its paladins claim, the scarce resource will still be folks who can think, write, & communicate. Demand won’t be for <degrees> & <curricula> in AI. It’ll be a commodity tool, & the case for liberal arts education will be stronger than ever.
I've been saying for a couple years now that the AI-will-fundamentally-reshape-the-academy craze has all the elements of the mid-2010s MOOCs-will-fundamentally-reshape-the-academy craze.
In about three years the entire university pivot to AI curricula and schools and programs is going to be so deeply embarrassing. We will all pretend it never happened and I will be standing there, looking at people with a mirror in my eyes. This is all so embarrassing.

Part of the utility for huge protests like No Kings is that they undermine the fundamental basis of Trump's power, which is elite consent. If universities, private companies, government officials, etc. think they could get caught up by a popular backlash they're less likely to comply w/ the regime.

We think in pain from a tweak. Her brothers are way bigger but she's boss. Launches herself everywhere. So probably...

While I always knew that the Trump administration would eventually pivot from disingenuously using antisemitism as way of silencing political dissent toward actively embracing antisemitism I’d admit I did not expect it to happen this quickly and this boldly

Do #facemasks present a unique ‘persuasion point’ to enhance public #health #communication?

We manipulated exposure to the #NHS symbol in health messages in two online studies.

Someone needs to do a roundup article on "Charlie Kirk censorship" because there's so much repression of free speech for anyone who had anything irreverent to say about him. From Jimmy Kimmel to these immigrants www.nytimes.com/2025/10/15/u...

People who abuse their power in one way abuse it in every way. Cuomo and Trump are such men.
Lindsey Boylan was the first of about a dozen women to accuse Andrew Cuomo of sexual harassment and is now supporting Zohram Mamdani for mayor of New York City.

Next week will see a first in computer science, with the launch of a scientific conference in which all of the papers — and all of the reviews — have been produced by machines

What do we rely on more when judging a person - the way they look or what they do? It depends! Often, behaviors matter more than facial appearances (Josh is “helpful” if he helps an old woman cross the road, even if he doesn’t “look” like a helpful person).

The director of the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion has just been laid off.
What I mean is in the text citations are available for the perimetry techniques (1D and 1E) as well as the demos of the importance of the foveal region (1A, B and C).
Only 1F is not cited in this figure.

Imagine doing work so fully accepted that it is not even cited (speaking of the cortical magnification of the foveal area as identified by Roger Tootell).
