Having a sense of dread every time you are pinged with a news notification is a rough way to go through life.
Some day we will get out of this mess but it’s gonna take so much work.
Online world is so radically different than the “real world” but I’m afraid a lot of really online people can’t acknowledge that and it’s making its way into that “real world.”
Had I just read a ridiculous post 10 minutes prior? Yes…yes I did.
I’ve seen enough hate for the day. Logging off for the night.
Was introducing @dannagal.bsky.social’s work on misinformation in my public opinion class yesterday. I suspect those students are seeing much of what we discussed play out in real time over the last day.
Trump, Epstein, Diddy…Eyes Wide Shut stuff has to be real.
There was so much more hope coming of age in the 80s and 90s. The last 25 years has been a rough time for the USA and the world.
I must have missed the part where the president has unrestrained power in Article II.
Trump: “I have the right to do anything I want to do. I’m the president of the United States. If I think our country is in danger, and it is in danger in these cities, I can do it.”
It’s day 2 and my “to do” list is already a novella 😂.
28 years and I’m still nervous the night before the first day of classes.
We really need decent people to run for public office at ALL levels of government.
The probability students read every word of a 20-page syllabus has to be next to 0. #MakeSyllabiMeaningfulAgain
I already feel behind and then I see this😕
Posting now for a later time:

Consumer costs rise dramatically and Trump gives out “tariff dividends” that do not actually cover those rising costs.
When Aldi prices are looking like normal grocery store prices I have to believe most people are seeing a pretty steep rise in their grocery bills.
Tariffs are taxes.
Tariff (noun) —
a TAX or duty to be paid on a particular class of imports or exports.

Definition from Oxford Languages
Government is not a business.
Went for an evening walk and stopped for a moment to take in the MLK statue on ONU’s campus. Needed message in these times.
