Let's be clear: If North Carolina Republicans gerrymander their already illegal map further, they will be sued and they will lose.

I never bluff and I usually win.

Interesting. My hometown’s city council turned over this year due to a controversy over a proposed “state of the art pickleball racquet center” that most residents didn’t want. Trend?

Celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day by supporting Alaska Public Radio stations
They serve entire communities as bulletin boards and disaster communications, and have had their federal funds ripped away.

ICYMI — with electricity rates already skyrocketing, Trump just canceled the largest solar project in North America.

Utah’s Republican governor seems to understand this is probably not the best idea: “This is how we lose the AI/energy race with China” 👇🏽

This is a good news. I hope Newark airport does the same thing. As much as I now loathe flying, I never imagined the worst part of the trip would be being forced to watch this crap on the TV screens. They’ve never had the slightest respect for people who did not vote for them.

NEW: There’s a disaster unfolding in Alaska right now. And no major network is covering it.

The remnants of Typhoon Halong battered western Alaska overnight. Homes, with people in them, have literally been swept into the Bering Strait.

At least 20 are missing. No comment from any federal agency.

Jeffries: "If Republicans continue to refuse to extend the ACA tax credits, tens of millions of people are about to experience dramatically increased premiums ... including in the state represented by Speaker Mike Johnson. In fact, in his own district, I believe premiums may increase by about 380%."

(Reuters) - U.S. companies and consumers are bearing the brunt of the country's new import tariffs, early indications show, contradicting assertions by President Donald Trump and complicating the Federal Reserve's fight against inflation.

New in PN: Republicans are totally full of it on healthcare.

It becomes more obvious every time they talk about it. And it's a big reason the shutdown is turning out to be such a disaster for them.

A 13-year-old boy was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Everett after an interaction with members of the Everett Police Department and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia, according to his mother and immigration lawyer Andrew Lattarulo.

The boy’s mother, Josiele Berto, was called to pick her son up from the Everett Police Department on Thursday, the day he was arrested. After waiting for about an hour and a half, she was told her son was taken by ICE, Berto told the Globe in a phone interview.

“My world collapsed,” Berto said in Portuguese.

From the police department, the boy was taken to ICE’s holding facility in Burlington on Thursday evening, where he spent a night before being transferred by car to the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Winchester, Va., on Friday morning, his mother said. The juvenile facility is more than 500 miles away from Everett.

The boy is a 7th-grader at Albert N. Parlin School in Everett, his mother said. The teen and his family, who are Brazilian nationals, have a pending asylum case and are authorized to work legally in the United States, Lattarulo said.
