Yes, that, and I also miss the days -- far too short that they were -- when Jewish leaders recognized it was a bad idea to support sexual abusers.

Time to go back to vetting the candidates for local library trustee to see what their foreign policy views are; I'm sure they'll have lots of influence.
Where all the instructors are full of sh*t.
Harvard’s Trump School of Plumbing
Trump on Harvard: "We reached a concept of a deal but it's pretty complicated bc under this deal it would be $500m, they're gonna open up trade schools. I love the idea of trade & trade schools by Harvard. You know, they get into like a vocational-type school... we may just charge them a $500m fine"
In a world where Jeff Bezos and Bari Weiss are key figures in the media, maybe not that surprising.

It’s actually pretty amazing that trolling being minimized as “just a joke” is still something that works against the media.
Obama sharing a video of himself wearing a crown and flying a King Obama jet that dumped shit all over Americans would have been the only thing the news networks talked about for weeks.

Meanwhile, Trump doing that very thing couldn't even warrant a discussion on the Sunday shows today.

No one expects the Spanish Inquisition, but those monsters were very much "real Christians." For non-Christians, the history of Christianity is very much a history of atrocities. Y'all need to own that, just like we need to own that we have monsters in our midst too.
I'm gonna put this as gently as I can, but... suffice it to say that a lot of Jews are really, really tired of hearing that most of our historical interactions with Christianity weren't with "real Christians."
To be very clear, they're not disbanding the group because of racist texts. They're disbanding the group because the texts drew *negative press*. This is CYA, not a principled stand.
I do not expect the Taney court to give a damn about the religious freedom of people who minister to immigrants.
"I think we are going to pursue a lawsuit, to claim our rights as clergy and religious to be able to minister to anyone in these facilities," he said. "We're going to continue to push back in any way that we can peacefully to fight for what is right."

I question the validity of a bar association that allows people who prosecute based on politics rather than criminality to maintain law licenses.
1/ MSNBC is reporting that the US Atty for Maryland, Kelly Hayes -- who just indicted John Bolton at Trump's behest -- is herself "bracing for being fired" by Trump when she refuses to bring a bullshit, Lindsey Halligan-style indictment of Adam Schiff.

Penalties for all sorts of infractions ought to be compounded when the offender is in a position of authority.

Instead, we have this.
An ICE agent, who is being arrested for drunk driving and nearly killing his little kids & others, tries to stop the arrest by racially profiling the officers arresting him. Amazing to watch the courtesy given to him as he is belligerent and uncooperative
No one ever said Qusay was smart.
Eric Trump accused Jack Smith of planting evidence in Mar-a-Lago to harm Trump. Smith wasn't appointed to work on cases involving Trump until three months later. RECEIPTS!
If there's anything I look for when deciding for whom to vote for library trustee in my Massachusetts town, it's their foreign policy proposals. That's what really matters -- the area where they have the most impact.
As a Jewish New Yorker, can I humbly ask the moderators of this debate to ask the candidates about their city policies, not their foreign policies?

The reality of Kavanaugh stops: American citizens dragged, tackled, beaten, tased, and shot by immigration agents. Citizens held in the rain while in their underwear. A pregnant citizen's door blown off while Kristi Noem watched. Important story by @nicolefoy.bsky.social of @propublica.org

The Supreme Court’s majority right wing indicated in oral arguments that they think racism is over on the same day that the vice president defended the “I love Hitler” guy, and that the NYT reported that the current administration plans to accept only white, English-speaking refugees.
This is your periodic reminder that when JD Vance called Trump "America's Hitler," he was expressing admiration, not criticism.
I keep coming back to this article, from 2023, showing that far-right extremists use antisemitism and Islamophobia interchangeably to promote hatred of both Jews and Muslims. It's a game to them; whichever stochastic terrorist causes the most harm wins.
I'll give you three guesses which Jew this POS thinks is paying the protesters.
Sean Duffy: "The No Kings protest, Maria, really frustrating. This is part of antifa, paid protesters. It begs the question who's funding it."
If only such catastrophes were avoidable...

Congratulations to all the runners today at the Chicago Marathon!

I hope you’re taking a moment after crossing the finish line and enjoying all that the best big city in the nation has to offer.
Even the ADL knows it's a terrible way to measure the threat, but it's an attention-getter. At an absolute minimum, anyone reporting counts is committing malpractice if they don't also report an awful lot of caveats.
So, what's my point? There's no sense in counting incidents -- your count is definitely going to be wrong, and counting isn't the best way to assess how serious of a problem antisemitism is anyway. The count is used because it's easy to count incidents that get reported, but that's lazy.
4) And that assumes no more than one incident per person who experiences antisemitism. The story that started this thread is about a self-declared Nazi assaulting a Jewish man.

There are Nazis in Montana. They're not quitting when they meet an imagined quota of committing one act of antisemitism.
3) Case in point: there's also evidence that over half of American Jews have experienced an incident in the past year. Let's say there are 1,400 Jews in Montana; that suggests at least 700 incidents, not "just" 21.
