Sort of funny thing about that is I get really lightheaded when I see that kind of stuff in movies (I fainted in the theater during the artery clamping scene in Black Hawk Down, they had to stop the movie and called an ambulance) but not in real life. Better than the reverse, at least.

I still keep a basic hemostatic kit in my car for that reason, those two times I needed it were both when I was out getting gas and saw a person spurting blood at the next pump.

It’s really inconvenient how quickly people bleed if they get a hole in the wrong place.

Plus Wilderness First Responder below that, which I did years ago, and is mostly keeping people glued together until you can pass them off to the real pros. Though it has come in handy the two times I’ve randomly come across someone with post-dialysis arterial bleeding.

You are going to eat so much good seafood there, I’m envious. Are those fresh? I’ve only had tinned percebes, those were delicious.

Their 2001 season was wild. Ichiro’s debut, record number of wins, then getting steamrolled by the Yankees.

It was almost four years ago that Nina Larson was killed by a driver as she crossed Columbia Road NW in Adams Morgan. (Story: dcist.com/story/21/11/...) It took until this week for the driver to be found guilty of two misdemeanor offenses.

9/11 was kind of the "9/11" of country music

Short answer is baggage liens. Fancy luggage was effectively a form of credit.

me: fandom is so weird you get super invested in the doings of these other people who don't even care about your opinion most of the time and your entire day is based on whether they did good or feel bad and then you have to feel the same way

mom: This is just parenthood

SurveyMonkey is the only one I have any experience with but they had decent options for that using IP address tracking to limit responses.

Matt Damon is like the one exception to this but yeah, it seems tough.

You think that dry walling is easy because it’s such a common and necessary repair.

It’s not, and it’s worth spending a little extra time and money to do the task right.

Hard-won lessons in drywalling: Trim-Tex tearaway bead, Certainteed No-Coat corner bead, and FibaFuse fiberglass tape all make the process go much more smoothly. Worth the price.

If you ever need to finish that kind of transition in the future, get the Trim-Tex tearaway L-bead. Might need to go to a commercial supply place. The equivalent Clark Dietrich stuff they have at Home Depot is much harder to work with in my experience.

You have to make sure the children can’t escape, of course. You can’t make an Omelas without breaking legs.

Drywall finishing is so much harder than it looks. Hosed myself on the first large drywall job I bid, “how hard could it be?” I naively thought. Took like a week longer than I planned to get it looking right.

good timeline: kelce bombs film career, messy divorce in 5 years and a banger divorce album

neutral: full tradwife, four kids. no new music, middling Vegas residency in the 40s

bad: kelce replaces chris pratt, swift changes her name and flirts w/ MAGA, we hear about his dick for six more albums
