I don't promote my writing very often (ironically because I'm usually busy writing in my spare time), but I'd like to feature my two novels today, THE SOCIETY OF EXPERIENCE and most recently RADIOLAND.

Both are mind-bendy urban literary fiction with generous doses of dark spec blended in.

I understand the real politik at work, I am interested in how this plays w people who did their bit, as much as they could. Symbolic efforts, signals and signs, matter too.
And Saint Petersburg. I'd love to go under different circumstances (!) but I hear the mosquitos are huge.

Notice how the adultification of Black children (especially young Black men) is the inverse of the infantilization of White adults (especially fully grown White men). It holds Black children as always blameworthy and White adults as blameless.

I heard Sarah MacLachlan for the first time as a 22 year old host at the Canada Pavillion at EXPO ‘92 in Seville.
She, like other up and comings, came and sang, for a time, on a floating stage at the centre of Bing Tom’s impressive Zinc-clad box. She was 23. She sang barefoot. We all loved her.

October's moving fast, so before I forget I wanted to recognize this month as the 10th anniversary of my first novel, THE SOCIETY OF EXPERIENCE, being published (via @wolsakandwynn.bsky.social). It's been a wild ride and I look forward to the future as my third novel is out on submission.

Today is the centenary of the birth of the great Tony Hart who opened the eyes of generations to visual art and who is forever associated with this, the shimmering Gallery theme from Vision On – which was also pretty much everyone’s introduction to the vibraphone. youtu.be/-ZNkJXKV7_w

That header font is an assault. Mind you so is the wallpaper.
Fiction-wise, I'm doing satire these days...and there are, like, two? publications available to submit to? It's rough.

Back when I was playing bass in bands, I took a few lessons to up my game. After the last lesson, the teacher told me to pick up D'Angelo's Voodoo album and said, "Honestly, everything you need to know is on this record." He was right. RIP.
