Hugely heartening result (albeit disappointing Reform even got 36%). Clear majority in Wales against what the far right are selling, hopefully that’s sustained in the Senedd elections next year. Total mis-reading of the room from the increasingly hapless bbc news.
Caerphilly, Senedd constituency by-election result:

PC: 47.4% (+19.0)
REF: 36.0% (+34.2)
LAB: 11.0% (-34.9)
CON: 2.0% (-15.3)
GRN: 1.5% (+1.5)
LDEM: 1.5% (-1.2)
GWL: 0.3% (+0.3)
UKIP: 0.2% (+0.2)

Plaid Cymru GAIN from Labour.
I think long-time players were always going to struggle to get to grips with it. Some of it frustrates me but I’m not against the direction of travel and this (even with the year out) was always going to be a transitional year
Jury’s out on it for me but I think it’s worth persisting with, I think some will just never get on with it but most will after a while. Expecting lots of tweaks/QoL things to make it in for full release and the first updates. But I get it for free so refunding’s not a decision I have to worry about
Yeah, running a save with United women until the full game comes out
Newsnight can barely contain themselves about the prospect of Reform winning this Caerffili by-election. Palpable giddiness
Happy new Football Manager day to all those who celebrate 🫡

Why is a Labour Home Secretary perpetuating this myth in The Sun?

Asylum applications in the UK are significantly below the average for all European countries. The only person helped by spreading this falsehood is Nigel Farage
Labour took 12+ hours to deliberate over a response to Lam’s vile and flat-out unpopular proposals and this is the best they can do? Just an absolutely pathetic government who can’t even clear the lowest of bars
“We welcome those who come to this country, legally, and give more than they take. We believe the right to stay here must not be automatic, but that those who play their part should be able to earn that right."

They had a full day to craft this statement and they still couldn’t bring themselves to say “this is unconscionable and we would never change the rules on people in this way” without adding the rider “as long as they deserve it”. Who is this even for?

Centre-left parties wouldn’t consider a policy that polled this badly. But the right are different. I don’t think it’s madness: they feel they control enough of the media and are good enough at shaping attitudes to turn it round. Are they wrong in this? Or is this my pessimism talking?
Your regular reminder that scrapping ILR for people who have come here and played by the rules, which is what Lam proposes here, is a position supported by 3% of the public
Sunday Times interview Tory "rising star" Katie Lam

She is clear she wants lots of legal migrants to be told to "go home" so as "to leave a mostly but not entirely culturally coherent group of people"

(The interviewer suggests she is scrapping ILR or stripping people of it)
Finally win back to back games in the league and of course it’s at Anfield. Get the fuck in
No injuries or lengthy VAR nonsense, two goals, one of which wasn’t celebrated cos they wanted to restart. Just flat out homer bullshit
Ok, NOW keep the goddamn ball
Feels like at no point did we show any real conviction in going after a second goal but nor did we show any interest in retaining possession. Rubbish defending for the goal but keep putting yourself in those situations and it’ll happen
Shaw has half-arsed so many challenges today
Or just, you know, don’t bother
Please just keep the ball for a bit
Brilliant from Cunha to keep going but all the fouling on him completely killed that counter
