America didn’t win WWII through “inferior tech," it won through organization, integration, and strategy, as well as the myth that Nazi Germany’s “exquisite” weapons outclassed the Allies, and critiques how the media keeps misusing history to sound profound. My latest⬇️

I have always enjoyed how the practice of initialling the surname of someone under investigation for a crime in Poland leads to such rich absurdities as “Bartlomiej W., grandson of former president Lech Wałęsa…”
Learned that an anonymous outside expert on submersibles did an interview with the OceanGate Titan investigation, and they released a transcript, with all the names redacted. The first line of his first answer? "I'm sure you're familiar with my film Titanic."

11 Q. So how did you get yourself started into submersible
12 operations?
13
A.
Well, I'm sure you're familiar with my film Titanic.
When I
14
set down the path to make that film, the first thing that I did
15
was arrange to be introduced to the head of the submersible
16
program at the P.P. Shirshov Institute in Moscow, a guy named

Professor
I. I did that through a mutual friend

of ours, a guy named
, who is one of the preeminent
underwater cinematographers in the world. And had been on a
20
submersible expedition out to Titanic the previous year with the
21
Russians. And that was organized by a Canadian company that was
22 doing an IMAX film which was released under the title Titanica.

It’s noteworthy that many regime supporters and even some propagandists feel confusion, dislike, first signs of danger in the Georgian Dream’s sweeping crackdown on rights, now also encompassing academia. 1/2

It's the oppression of every day life under communism that is far more important to understand. Something one of my teachers called "The Denial of Life". How every aspect of your life is shaped for you and determined by forces you have zero control over.
lenin's red terror, brezhnev & andropov's crackdown and the tianamen square massacre should really be taught more intensively
I would prefere Hage ir Nuremberg...but Moskov would do.

Preferably next to Asad and Janukowycz.

I am living in the portion of Transylvania claimed by Victor Orban. Before the war I was mocking people that saw Hungary as a potential enemy. After the war a was uncertain. Not I truly believe that Hungary is an enemy country that would love my country to be partitioned. Under Orban ofc
Would it be too much to ask for minister Zero to stay with his underling there for foreseeable future. If we can't have him in a nice cell since our PiS president will pardon him, at least I wouldn't have to see him again (I hated his dumb policies in 2005-2007 and after 2015 he got even worse)...

💥Seems like Budapest is THE meeting place: Zbigniew Ziobro, former Polish justice minister is set to speak at an MCC event with one of Orbán's ministers – and likely reunite in public with his fugitive ex-deputy, Marcin Romanowski.

Georgian Dream PM Kobakhidze didn't even pretend, he just went straightforward:

"When young people study abroad (read: the West), a large part of them stay there. Why should we encourage migration?"

Read: say goodbye to Western education and suffer under our dictatorship.
Moreover, now schools will only have 11 grades, effectively disengaging Georgia from the Bologna Process.

The Georgian Dream wants MGU and MGIMO to be the only top prospects for Georgians. And maybe some Chinese universities too, I don’t know.
The regime now has further plans to crush universities, such as “one city - one faculty.” In a single city, there should be no two similar faculties. Bear in mind that most universities are in Tbilisi anyway.

This probably means closing down lots of universities.

Congratulations to @mariaressa.bsky.social, as well as the representatives of the Bangladeshi and Venezuelan democracy movements who joined me at the Hillary Rodham Clinton awards at @giwps.bsky.social. Great to spend a day surrounded by people working hard to make their countries better.
We will see.

I will bet he will be too scared to fly to Europe as there are risks that weren't there in Alaska.

Like for examplea mob many thousands strong that would like to reenact with him Mussolinis final moments...

Or

The Italian NATO contingent arresting him on the tarmac...
Well, look at operation Spiderweb.

Surly they have at least one nice surprise for Putin international visits worked up by now...

Always can try an Igla on final aproach too...

Although there is a non-EU way to enter Hungary, albeit a complicated one: Mediterranean sea, Albania, Kosovo, Serbia. But surely an accident over Kosovo could be arranged...

The E.U should absolutely deny Putin to fly over our air space. In fact, release a statement that the only way Putin can come to Hungary is by ship. Just to rub Trianon into Orbán's face.
