That’s a load-bearing “if” there. The one i attended had a bustling area full of tents with petitions, political education, and volunteer signups for mutual aid and ICE watch. People are more likely to take real action when they’ve had a chance to speak with people who are taking action.

Protests like the "No Kings" rallies do not threaten power, but the powerful are happy to pretend it matters.
Fighting empire requires direct actions, sustained boycotts & acts that interrupt business as usual. If these rallies make ppl less likely to take real action, they're counterproductive.

It wasn’t easy for me and just one of my family members to get out for #NoKings Day 10/18/2025, but I’m so glad we did. Riverside Park full with everyone from babies to elderly. And loud! Cars traveling by honking horns and waving signs. It was like an hour long parade! #resist #truthtopower

I call it Ratatouille Risotto and it’s a 1 pot meal. I used ratatouille vegetables, added a sweet potato and a delicata squash. Fresh greens and herbs, then rice and broth. Finished with mozzarella and Parmesan. Very complex and velvety great way to use CSA veggies. #cookingsky #CSA #homecooking

At this point I remembered I had about one serving left from the Aldi-brand packaged fettuccine Alfredo side dish I made for kids’ lunches earlier. I dumped it in and stirred it hoping it would just get lost in the new meal. 4/7

Next, I added the cooked and drained fettuccine into the pan with the greens. Added 2 chopped fresh tomatoes. Cooked a bag of creamed spinach in the microwave and added it to the pan. Then I stirred in about a cup of heavy cream and seasoned heavily with salt, pepper, and fresh parsley.

Cooked 16 oz box of fettuccine, melted 3 tablespoons of butter in a large fry pan, added chopped Swiss chard stems, sautéed for a few minutes, added 2 cups or more of chopped up fresh mixed greens (Swiss chard leaves, fresh spinach, & mixed greens), cooked until leaves started to wilt. 2/7
