Yes. He was pulled in and mangled by the star-making machine so near to the start of his career—and now the middle and end of what should have been a long and fruitful lifetime have been eaten up by cancer. For a person who only ever tried to bring beauty into this world… he deserved so much more

Also multimedia/hypertext versions of cult books, and even titles from the pre-DVD Criterion Collection. I got my dad to buy me a copy of The Complete Maus, an ebook with photos, complete transcripts and extensive audio recordings from Spiegelman’s interviews with his father, because I loved Maus

I'm so angry!!! Tidal is really easy to fool like this—their algos recommended both of these tracks to me because I'm constantly listening to Ben Frost and Matmos. But as you can see, Spotify thinks this counterfeit Ben is the real deal, too.

Yeah, and I think they were kicked off the project before production was even completed. What we have is a suite of “themes”—presumably they’d all have to be drawn out & tailored to fit the finished film

[Adding an AI policy to my syllabus this semester, and wanted an illustration so I went to ChatGPT. Now I'm really considering just making the policy, "If you'd like me to give you grades based on stuff like this, knock yourself out"]

ChatGPT's diagram of the Circle of Fifths. Many wrong key names (including two Bs, and the enharmonic pair C-sharp, G-flat, and 100% incorrect key signatures, mostly mixing flats, sharps, and the occasional double sharp)

reading about HELLRAISER for bar trivia. love that it originally had the working title "Sadomasochists from Beyond the Grave" and Clive Barker wanted Coil to do the soundtrack but the financiers were extremely upset by that idea
